I first went to L’Grande Cafe a little over a year ago. My first experience was not the best. The space is not utilized well, it’s not very functional for table service or for the comfort of its guest. You are back to back with the people around you and once everybody is seated there’s little room to then get up to go anywhere. The menu is way too vast, I love having the options but not only do you have the main menu everywhere you look there’s “Have you tried this?,” “Ask for this,” “We have a new that.” Which are all advertising items that aren’t on the main menu, in short there is no concept to this restaurant.... cafe?...ice cream parlor?.... coffee shop?... bakery?...WHO knows? Not only is the menu a headache and a half but the design of the cafe looks like someone went to goodwill and said “We need to furnish this place stat and don’t worry about it matching.” When my family and I finally received our food it was subpar, all things you can make at home and still have enough ingredients left do it over and over again. Not only was the food just okay, the man I believe to be the owner was sitting in the corner gossiping with some guest giving them free stuff left and right, yelling at the top of his lungs when they were sitting right in front of him like he wanted everybody in the building to know he was there. He would not stop even when he went into the kitchen, all anybody could hear was him. Again like he wants to flaunt that he owns this place, which there’s not much to flaunt about, which he probably finally realized and is the reason he’s MIA more often than not. Leaving the employees to fend for themselves to deal with the everyday in the cafe, which is sad seeing as to how a lot of the employees are high school students and here they are having to practically run a restaurant. Thank goodness Michelle is there but it’s again so sad that she gets one day off a week to deal with the craziness while the owners are MIA and she doesn’t even have say in what happens in the building despite being in “charge” AND can’t get in touch with her “bosses.” In summary the owner doesn’t seem to treat this place as his business and more like his playground, all the while flaunting about all the places he’s ran yet he’s no where to be found while this place is becoming a sinkhole. In the business world this...
Read moreThe only reason why I am giving this place a 1, is because of the rude customer service tonight. A year ago today, my husband and I got engaged here. It was a perfect night that night. Everyone that was working that night came together so well to make it happen. So, tonight, he made dinner reservations for 7 to go back and celebrate and relive that moment. He and I work long hours sometimes, and tonight was one of those nights for us, so we ended up getting there at 7:30. Immediately upon walking in, we were greeted with a very terrible attitude from the girl at the cash register who when we told we had dinner reservations at 7, she responded, “It’s 7:30 now…” My husband respectfully replied, “I know, I’m really sorry…” And that’s when I had just said that if they couldn’t make anything tonight, it was fine we could just go. But, she said it just depended on what we wanted and we could stay so long as we could be finished within 30 minutes. At this point, because I had sensed her bad attitude towards us immediately and then what she was telling us, I was already uncomfortable being there and taking up any of their time or allowing them to serve us at all. I know she was probably tired from a long shift. I know it was close to closing time. I happened to get out of work at 7:15 tonight, and then we rushed over there. I know she had no idea how special tonight was to us. However, customer service could have still been so much better. You just don’t treat people that way or make them feel that way when they are paying customers. I was so uncomfortable with it all that I just had my husband ask for to go containers and we just left. This was our first bad experience here, and we are very displeased to say it was. We were very displeased with her and her attitude. Apart from what happened tonight, in mine and my husband’s experiences, it’s a very great place with great food, and all the times we’ve come here prior to tonight, we’ve been treated very well. Their friendly personalities and great attitudes that fill the atmosphere here is one of the best parts about this place. I won’t allow what happened tonight due to one person take that away from this place. I just wanted to make known that this type of service is not...
Read moreREVIEW UPDATE: I have since ate here 2 times since my last review and both time my self and the family I brought got incredibly sick with nausea, dizziness, and stomach pains. Almost like food poisoning or really bad cross contamination. Either way we will never return to or reccomened this place to family or friends. I don't know what they are doing in the back or where they get there food from but 2 visits and all parties sick both times is NOT good also considering all of us got different food items this last time tho the only food item we had as a side dish that was the same was the eggs. Called management and made them aware of the situation. But with little ones and elders with health issues I wouldn't even chance it as what we all went through was miserable.
We came here a few times last year didn't have a great experience. Chose since its been awhile we would try again wait 45 minutes for food waitress wasn't sure about the menu and even though they have table numbers they still get confused what order goes to what table. Though the staff is very friendly and the breakfast burrito was Delicious the breakfast sandwhich was good as well. They do load it up with lots of eggs recommened both with all 3 meats! They forgot our ice coffee so after eating half our food they finally brought that to us. If your not in a hurry for breakfast and don't mind spending a few hours hanging out I do think this is one of the the better breakfast places in town. If you are in a hurry I highly do not recommend this place as like I said it does take them quite awhile to get out your food. There were 3 people ahead of us after we sat that went up to the front asking if there food was done yet so take that for...
