My daughter, baby grandson and I went to Old Chicago's on Monday. It was for the lunchtime meal. And they were not very busy. My grandson had just gotten out of the hospital a couple of hours earlier and it was not feeling very well. We were hoping to get a good quick meal before we head to head the two hours to home. Well that did not happen! We had asked specifically if the pepperoni pizza could have no hot sauce put on it and our waitress said that that would be no problem. My daughter and I each ordered a small pepperoni pizza with no hot sauce. After waiting longer than I thought was necessary during a slow lunch hour. Both of our "no hot sauce pepperoni pizzas came out with hot sauce on them. I asked the waitress what the problem was and she said it was the kitchen that had messed up. During our wait, my 16 month old grandson was visibly upset crying and just wanted to go home. The waitress said she could go ahead and make another pizza for us, or we could go ahead and take the ones that we had. All we wanted to do was eat we had been in the hospital most of the night and morning and we're extremely exhausted at this point. My grandson was not going to be patient enough to wait another 20+ minutes for pizzas with no hot sauce on it. Our waitress did take off one of the charges for an appetizer that we had ordered for my grandson to eat, it was the fried macaroni and cheese bites. I was extremely disappointed in the fact that they couldn't even get an order correct during a slow lunch hour. I was definitely not pleased that the manager won't even come out and talk to us or apologize. The waitress said the manager had authorized to take off the charge, but it was completely unprofessional that the manager could not come out and speak to us in person. We will definitely...
Read moreThis was the worst experience we have had at a restaurant, which is so sad to say because we really liked this place & the food before tonight. We asked for our appetizers to come before our dinner. They took awhile, no big deal, but our waitress brought dinner out right after they set the appetizers down. Since we had no room on the table we asked for it to be taken back until we had a chance to eat the appetizers. A few minutes later, the manager Jerry brought it back out and this is how our conversation turned into an absurd argument Jerry: can we clear some space for this food Us: we don't have any room on our table J: well we have a lot of food back there (as he's moving all our plates around) Us: they just brought our appetizers out, we haven't had a chance to eat them (8 people in our party to dish up, including 4 young children) J: no actually it's been 10 min, I checked Us: no it hasn't J: yes it actually has, we'll do you want me to take some of these plates Us: no, we're still eating the appetizers off them. We're not on a timed schedule to eat our dinner J: you had 10 min, you guys ARE the ones who ordered this food so you need to take it before it gets cold (as he's still trying to move our plates around) Us: that's not our problem to fix, we asked for the appetizers before dinner, not all on the table at the same time J: I'm sorry you feel that way
I'll save you the rest of the nonsense that continued to vomit out of this guy's mouth, and on the last night we were trying to visit with family from out of state before they left. We chose a place we...
Read moreOriginally fell in love with this chain while living In Tennessee because of my favorite mixed drinks they serve there, the Sunset Beach. I generally drink beer but if I find a cocktail on a menu I really like that’s my go to. I don’t have a favorite food item on their menu yet as I don’t live close to one anymore and don’t eat at one often but I’ve never had a meal I didn’t like at one of these locations. I’ve tried pizza and calzones but hope to try their Mac and cheese and sandwich selections as well. They’ve got TVs for watching the games and this location seemed well staffed for a busy day, the food didn’t take long at all. Our waitress was fine, checked up on our table regularly to refill drinks but at the end did take a while to bring the check. The pretzel bites with beer cheese were good. Pictured here is the Chicago Fire calzone. It was good! But almost had too many strong flavors going on at once to be able to enjoy it. The ranch was a good pairing, it toned down some of these flavors. Good location, easy to get to from other places we shopped at passing...
