Whataburger — Restaurant in Castroville

Ok. I'm not gonna lie. Growing up early 90s and 00s What-a-burger products were subpar. I remember the burgers literally flopping in half when you picked them up. Ever since then I havent tried a burger. Always loved the milkshakes so I'd go back every now and then. My kid sister grew up in the mid-2010s. I could never understand what all the new popularity was about but hey What-a-burger = Texas and if people were loving it that made me happy. Fast forward to today in one of the airports on the way down, I overheard someone say as soon as they got into Texas they need to stop at What-a-burger and because said kid sister still hypes on how great their burgers are I decided to finally give it another go.... Holy! I'm sad to say I've really been missing out. I just had a What-a Jr with Bacon, fries, and a drink. I am definitely getting another burger before I fly back out of Texas. They have definitely upped their flavor factor. I tip my hat to you all. Thanks for representing the great state of Texas with great food and fun times. 👏👏👏❤🍔🇨🇱 God Bless Texas...

It has been a while since we went to this location. Today they did pretty good almost gave me a sweet tea instead of unsweetened. So since they are getting better. I will give them some stars. Could be their biggest problem is messing up orders during a rush. But please always check your order before driving off. They are more than willing to fix it without charging you. Now the McDonald's up the road if they mess up on your order to fix it they will charge you. It is like they use to be the cheapest place around but after covid their prices shot up.

Seems everytime we go they either forget something like fries! This last time they didn't give me my medium fries and put whata sauce instead of mayo like I requested. If I could give them no stars I would!

They are getting better. When they first open they had problems with getting orders right. Always want their cinnamon rolls and an unsweetened...

The last 3 times I ordered thru their app for delivery the order was badly wrong. The delivery drivers have no responsibility of any kind and do not seem to care. Whataburger will let you come and pick up what was missing or wrong...but that defeats the purpose of delivery. It seems the more customized your order, the more likely they are to screw it up. There is a store manager and a general manager at the location near me and still things are wrong. Training seems to be an issue for the kitchen staff. Everyone wants to blame COVID but that has been going on for months now so businesses need to stop blaming it for poor service and a lack of training. If a delivery order is wrong then deliver the correct food ASAP. Simple customer service. My last order, I went really simple with no customization and it showed up fast and correct...so...
