Boy's Hamburgers — Restaurant in Cathedral City

This definitely isn't a gourmet burger spot, but it's not trying to be. Neither is it a fast-food place. It's a semi-service diner. Order and pay at the counter, and your food is brought to your table (at least when I've been there, when it wasn't super busy). The staff will also refill your drinks and provide needed condiments, etc.

I've only been twice. Once for a late breakfast, once for a lunch. The first time I had scrambled eggs and french toast with bacon, and of course, coffee. Pretty decent coffee, in fact. The second time I had a burger, fries, and coke. Both times my meals were really good. The breakfast was like homemade (or better, if you're not great at cooking breakfast), and the burger & fries were like you'd get at a good diner. Both meals were very tasty, and relatively cheap. The breakfast might have been about $10 or $12, but I don't remember for sure. The burger combo, way better than a fast food spot, was $10 and change. And that was with good, friendly service, with my drinks refilled several times. An absolute bargain! I'm definitely a value oriented guy, so Boy's is definitely on my go-to list for this kind of food. I can't tell you what else is on their menu, besides onion rings that I'll try next time (I'd bet they're great), so check them out for yourselves. I really do expect that everything they serve is...

Boys Burgers has been there forever. A cornerstone of Cathedral City, has a restaurant, and a Hangout spot growing up. I remember the hamburgers,french fries and especially the fried zucchini being a delicious treat any even day. This restaurant has survived the COVID -19 PLANdemic !! As well as many other ups and downs in the economy ... But I'm sad to report that the food quality has gone down the pipes... Fried zucchini was blend and and horrible with bad texture... Small portion served.. to top it off, we ordered before the place closed.... They locked the doors and almost forgot to give us our food... My girlfriend and I stood in the dark, knocking on the doors trying to get their attention for them to give us our pre paid order ... Which was handed to us as if they were annoyed... Not a word was said regarding an apology... she locked the door and turned her back on us!! We looked at each other and walked away..... Boys Burger is not what it...

I’ve been coming to this restaurant for years, but after today’s experience, I will never set up foot in this location. I paid with a card they kept telling me they wanted to run the card again even though I showed them the charge had gone through my bank.They came to harassed me to the table numerous times. Asking for cash or another form of payment or they were going to take the money out of her paycheck the employee Said. The Menudo was cold to top it off and had little grease bubbles they took forever to bring it, while they were arguing about the charge, plus It was disgusting, at the end she said the manager wants to charge the card again and I refused, they follow up by bringing a receipt saying it did go through since the first time.
