So I have gone to Michael's cafe plenty of time most times I enjoy it the staff is friendly and the food is good but I went in today ordered a BLT which comes with a pickle after being half way done with my sandwich I notice something in my pickle THERE WAS SOMETHING MOVING IN IT!!!! I told my waitress and she was just like oh I'm not sure how that happened and gave us our check went to pay and told the hostess about the incident and asked for them to at the least remove the BLT off of our check and she did but when she hands me the check she says in a VERY sarcastic tone here is that better for you....uuuummm are you serious there was something moving in our freaken pickle the whole check should've been comped. ..but what I said to her in the same tone was yes that's much better thanks! NEVER GOING...

This place was recommended by our friends who live in Cathedral City for breakfast. We are glad to have come here - probably one of the best road trip breakfasts we've had ever.

There is a lot of food to choose from, including omelletes, sandwiches, salads, pancakes, and deli food like chicken salad or tuna salad.

My husband got the Breakfast special #5, which has 2 eggs any style, hash browns, 2 sausages and toast.

I got the California chicken sandwich which has grilled chicken on a bun (I substituted for sourdough bread), with bacon, avocado, onions, tomato and lettuce, and a side (I got cole slaw).

The atmosphere is old school diner with the diner counter in the center of the room. Parking is super easy.

The service is fantastic. Friendly and calm.

The price is very reasonable. Would...

UPDATE: Prices here have virtually doubled since they closed in the summer and then reopened. Including a $3 charge for hot water! Nah.......skip this place.

Very disappointed in our BLT sandwiches we had here on Thurs. It was missing the BACON as there were only 2 pieces! There was a giant wedge of lettuce and an overripe tomato. No mayo. on it, that came on the side. I thought the mayo. was for the non-homemade fries........so the sandwich was dry until I realized why. Basically it was a lettuce sandwich!

Coke was fine. Service was good, clean place. Just not the food I was expecting to get nor that I had heard good things about.

If you come here - skip the BLT. It's a giant waste of money at $12.95. Wish I could get...

I am not a Marilyn Monroe groupee, but if you are an adoring fan, you probably would give the atmosphere 5 stars. It is all about Marilyn, Marilyn, Marilyn!!! The place is very clean and the staff are very friendly and attentive. I thought the prices were reasonable. To be honest, most of the food looks to be supplied by Cisco...not a lot of 'house made' items here. Potatoes are perfect squares and hash is minced to almost mush. All that being said, the flavor of the food is what you expect from a similar dinner...and I love that they have tabasco on the table...i usually have to ask for it. I will go back.

Wonderful dining spot with good food. Staff friendly and nice. Very Marilyn Monroe-centric atmosphere and a great story about the original owners passion with local support for an amazing actress of her time. It was refreshing to be able to enjoy our meal without loud music playing and could have a conversation at our table. We enjoyed French toast, omelette’s and turkey burger for our table. The hostess were very personable and kind. Definitely will return again when in the area.

Talk about service….. this place has it along with great food, had the JD special, two scrambled eggs, sausage paddy both over a biscuit and smothered with gravy. Speaking of gravy, some of the best I’ve ever had, no joke. Wife had the Turkey Club and you can see, both will send you home smiling and full. Wonderful atmosphere with plenty of nostalgic photos. Want service out of this world and amazing food, this is your stop in Palm Sringa!
