I’m sorry to be leaving this negative review, but I feel like it must be said. My boyfriend and I arrived around 12:15 on a Sunday and were waiting to put our name in at the hostess stand so we could wait for a table. As we were waiting for the party in front of us to finish talking to the hostess, not one, but TWO people butted the line and put their names in at the hostess stand before we had the chance to. The first person was told a 10 minute wait, the second person was told a 20 minute wait, and by the time we put in our name, we had a 35 minute wait. Now, I mostly blame the people who butted in line, but the hostess surely saw us waiting and could have spoken up that we were there first.

If that was the only thing that went wrong, I would have been more understanding. We decided to wait the 35 minutes and were told we’d get a text when our table was ready. We walked around Frederick Road for a bit. After 40 minutes, we hadn’t received a text, so we went back inside to check on our table. The hostess apologized and said she accidentally texted the wrong number on her notes, so another party got our table. She was kind about it, offered us drinks which I appreciated, and told us another table would be ready in 5 minutes or less. So we waited 5+ minutes outside to no avail. That’s when we decided to leave, after waiting close to an hour.

I’m willing to give Doozy’s another try, but my boyfriend is not as forgiving. I was quite excited to try the food so I’m disappointed about...

We are so excited about this new spot in the cherished duesenbergs location (and very glad it's open on Sundays!) Arrived on Saturday around noon, as noted by others, staff are extremely friendly and seems like only large parties needed to wait. Our satisfaction with our orders was varied. The deviled eggs were maybe a little overpriced ($6 for 4 halves) and the base was kind of meh but the bacon jam on top was GREAT. The pastrami Reuben was delicious and the meat was really good (I would have liked a little more sauerkraut but my son loved it). Tater tots were SUPER crispy (they were out of the smashed potatoes by then). The Sante Fe omelet was great, the omelet itself was very fluffy and light, the carne asada was flavorful and delicious. The biscuit was dry and flavorless and no amount of butter could restore it. The stacked enchiladas, while appearing delicious (see photo) were also disappointing. There was scant meat on it, and there were a LOT of refried beans that tasted like they just came out of the can. The entire thing was cold, and the corn tortillas were very difficult to cut through. The two sauces were good, but overall I would not order it again. We are totally aware that it's the first week in business, so some kinks are to be expected. Overall, we look forward to coming back and trying more things-lots on the...

We just hosted 35 people there for a private family event between Christmas and New Years. Chris was awesome to work with on the menu and arrangements. Brooke was our server and was simply extraordinary. (We first met Brooke when she waited on our table for two in November and we talked about the possibility of a private event. She was awesome then too.)

Doozy's provided great appetizers that pleased everyone for the first hour of our event. During this time, we had multiple card games going at the front of the restaurant while other small groups engaged in conversations in the back room. This allowed us to socialize before we all gathered in the back room for the main meal. The fish, steak, and chicken were all big entrée hits. The sides were excellent too.

Dessert involved excellent and very large chocolate chip cookies that were warm from the oven and served with whip cream. They were a huge hit.

Brooke was awesome the whole evening, attending to all our beverage needs, clearing plates, delivering entrees, and making everyone, from 3 years to 84 years old, feel welcome. She has an astounding memory and is one of the best servers we know in the area.

Well done Doozy's! See you again soon, perhaps with some smaller groups in the coming months. We would love to do a private event again...

Doozy’s Diner’s been on my list for a minute so I’m glad I finally got to go! Located in Catonsville, this local mom and pop offers breakfast and lunch every day except Tuesday. Here’s what @MINJE and I got to share on this nom adventure: ▪️Bulgogi Cheesteak ($16): shaved ribeye with sauteed onion, KBBQ sauce, kimchi slaw and cheddar! This was HUGE, and they were VERY generous with the meat. The bulgogi was tender and juicy, but a little on the sweeter side. The kimchi slaw tasted less like kimchi and more like cole slaw, but that’s ok - just letting you guys know so you have a better idea of what to expect. I thought the slaw could’ve used a bit more acidity to contrast with the meat, but it was still an objectively solid sandwich. ▪️Green Chile Patty Melt ($14): this smashburger was delicious, and it was stuffed with all kinds of yummy goodness! Think caramelized onion, bacon, cheddar, green hatch chili, avocado ranch, and pickled peppers on thick cut marble rye. Really hearty and super satisfying. We got it with chips, but you can add fries or tots for a small upcharge. ▪️Flippity Flapjacks ($12 + $3 upcharge for the special flavor): when our server told us their flavor of the week was blueberry crumble, we obviously had to try it. This was a lot less sweet than we expected, and the texture was really interesting (I mean that in a good way). They almost tasted a bit like mochi pancakes? Either way, I enjoyed it, and I’m excited to see what their other flavors will be. They’re clearly super creative, and I feel like there’s still so much on their menu I want to try. Additional notes 📝 ▪️Service was phenomenal - a huge thanks to our amazing server for giving us great recommendations. ▪️There’s a cute patio on site if you’d like to dine al fresco ▪️Parking wasn’t too difficult - there’s a good amount of street parking available ▪️Breakfast is served until close, and lunch service starts at 10am Have you guys been to Doozy’s Diner yet? Unfortunate. We live very close by and want to support local businesses, but we can't give them any more chances. Here are my 4 experiences at doozy's. 1: They just opened. Our poached eggs were hard boiled for our Benedict and the food was gross. We gave them the benefit of the doubt since they were new. 2. We came back and had a good time. The food was pretty good, service was good. 3. We were quickly seated and then ignored for 15 minutes. Literally nobody acknowledged us. We watched other tables be seated and served while we were invisible, so we left. 4. Final try, 10/05. Quickly seated and served. Then the server disappeared. We got pancakes but no syrup. There was nobody to ask for syrup or hot sauce because our server didn't return until everything was cold and half eaten. Ran out of napkins and had nobody to ask for napkins because this is how one of our napkins looked on the table before we even got there. This is especially tough because I literally work full time in a restaurant as a bartender. I know things happen and it gets busy but unless these servers are also cooking the food, it's absolutely insane how bad the service is here. There were only 2 tables. Bye doozys

A pleasant surprise in Catonsville GOOD: Fun decor, quality food and service BAD: Not much, little cramped and small menu (doesn't hurt the experience) IMP: hunt and peck for a nearby side lot to avoid meters. If the weather is decent, sit outside for the view and space. Doozy's Diner was a nice surprise, 1. for the food and theme, but 2. it reminded me there's more to Catonsville than Balt. National Pike. I walked in and wanted to rename the place "The Brady Bunch Cafe." Marsha-Marsha would be thrilled with the fun 70's decor (if you think your table is missing salt and pepper, look no further than the porcelain figurines). DDs has more of a cafe feel; a retro cafe with full menu and very pleasant servers. Some reviewers complained about prices or pricing surprises. I noticed extras were clearly noted in the menu. As in life, don't assume, just ask and you will be free of surprises. At 12-17$ an entree, it was pretty reasonable. I had the Crabby Patty - a crab imperial eggs bendict. It was excellent - tasty and colorful. Definitely give DD's a try - bell bottoms not required, but not out of place.
