That was some good stuff. Cody, the owner, came out to chat with customers every so often. I had a nice 15-minute chat with him. Come to find out everything outside of the bums and bread is made in house using family recipes. All 3 sauces are made with real sugar, not syrup. Add potato salad garnished with crispy bacon bits was so good they didn't have mac and cheese but they do have is a rice cheese blend I would also delicious the brisket with soft moist and juicy with a happy medium of fat flavor try to stay up and not too tired and the short ribs what I do find interesting is none of the barbecue meat is made with barbecue sauce on a weather cooks or after it's cooked it's just smoked and or baked. Cave Creek is about 35 Mi away from where I live here in the valley but I will definitely be going back to crying coyotes barbecue it's a drive but just like any place it's worth it I highly recommend it and there's more stuff I have to check out on another cheat day. All three of the sauces one is a mustard base one is a spicy sauce base in the other kids BBQ base and they each complement the meat in their own unique ways but really amplify the flavor of said meet oh God it was so good. I apologize for not having photos of my desert but I got a homemade chocolate chip cookie that had a nice definite melted hot chocolate taste to it with a hint of walnuts I don't know if once in the cookies but that's what my cow tongue picked up on. That ice cold root beer definitely complimented the meal I should have ordered a milk to go with the cookies live and learn I'll remember that next time I go by like I said it's a long trip but good food is worth any traveled. Thank you all very much for reading my review. I hope you all check it out at your leisure. Until next time, take care...
Read moreWe were in the first time a few months after they opened and were totally underwhelmed. The sides were bland (potato salad and beans), cole slaw watery, the brisket and ribs very fatty, and the sauces didnt taste homemade or unique. We said we'd never go back. Flash forward to today. With family in town who were craving bbq, we stopped in for a $200 take-out order early in service. I was hoping the food had improved, and I would have been OK if the food was still unremarkable, but fresh. However, most of the food was leftover from 2 days ago. The ribs were totally dried out like beef jerky. That weird, stringy, burnt, chewy texture on a brittle, shrunken, blackened bone. Same for the pulled pork (minus the bone, but really, nearly everyone was so turned off after we saw and tried the ribs, most wouldn't venture further into the meal and opted to have yesterdays pumpkin pie for lunch instead). Cole slaw and potato salad also weren't fresh and had that leftover refrigerator taste. I find it unconscionable a business would let food like this leave their restaurant. Clearly quality does not matter here. The first time the food was meh. The second we were sold the garbage someone forgot to toss on their way out earlier in the week. The upside? There will never be a...
Read moreNot their first rodeo. Walked in at 4:25pm to pick up my order. It was ready. The place was just starting to fill, but I was impressed by the number of young waiters and waitresses ready to jump in. Everyone was very friendly with a smile, and a welcome. Food portions are huge. My half rack of ribs had six ribs with an inch of meat surrounding them and moist. Plenty of sauces accompanied the order. My wife’s loaded potato was almost about 9-10 inches long. It was delicious and she’ll have the second half for lunch tomorrow. Now for the improvement area…both of our esquite corn containers had liquid at the bottom. Don’t know if they use a perforated ladle to scoop it out, but they should. Also, the Plate/Meals section is misleading. It says 2 sides come with, and the first four listings in the section say Plates behind them and sides are included, so the two remaining entrees one would assume are the Meals. They are not, and the sides are extra. Easy correction. Overall, they should have a growing business, and for an opening month, they are...
