Visited on March 2, 2024 with my daughter as she has not been to the new store before. We checked out the sculpture garden where there are gaylords with different rock/mineral specimens available to purchase. I chose a small chunk of Rose Quarts (clearly marked $2/oz) and a small Moroccan Geode (also clearly marked $10/lb). A manager (young man, dark hair) had started the sale but I received a text that our table was ready at a local restaurant so he held the two pieces and we said we would come back to complete. He mentioned that I should get another 2 or 3 geodes and probably several more rose quarts pieces because they were both $10/lb and there was a 1 lb minimum; also stated that my total would be $19.97 (maybe 19.96 or 19.95, but I think 19.97). During lunch, what he said did not make any sense; there were NO signs anywhere that stated there was a 1 lb minimum for any but the Amethyst Chunks (which were way bigger than 1 lb) and if indeed the prices were $10/lb, and he wanted to me to get 1 lb of each, how would the total be less than $20? We went back and double checked the signage on the gaylords and Rose Quartz was $2/oz and small Moroccan Geodes were $10/lb, with NO minimum purchase noted. We sought out a different sales person in the store and told her all of this; she confirmed that Rose Quartz is $2/oz and small Moroccan Geodes were $10/lb but that I could absolutely purchase just one geode-they sold them like that all the time. She called over another sales person (Nicole I believe) and she confirmed all the same info. Nicole offered to complete my sale and as she was weighing the pieces, the "manager" who I spoke with the first time around inserted himself and told me to get more geodes to make a pound. I said, once again, that I only wanted one; he said I could buy just one but it would cost me $10 (instead of paying by weight). I don't know if he's an idiot or just made a mistake and didn't have the balls to own up and apologize but he was more intent on losing a $4 sale than getting a $10 sale. I purchased only the Rose Quartz and left. Probably won't go here again, the whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth. Poor customer service...
Read moreThey have some cool stuff, that I will admit. Where they lack is in courtesy and operations. We went to the store, and were enjoying the experience. I was a little put-off by what I can only guess is the owner's 10 year old son roaming about asking everyone if they want to try anything on, and/or buy anything. Using your young son as a salesman is just in bad taste. As we continued through the store, there was a nicer lady (I am hoping not the owner's wife -- you will see why later) that was talking to us sometimes and explaining things. As my wife was looking at some necklaces in a case, the lady opened the case's slide out drawer and pulled a necklace out for her. She tried it on, and was handed a mirror. My wife was ultimately not interested and sat the mirror down on the case, as you would in any place that sells jewelery. They had some stone objects precariously perched on 1/2 inch displays and the placement of the mirror on the counter (probably along with the drawer being left open) caused them to fall. No damage, nothing broken. The lady explained that she thought they were just a little precarious and was in the process of putting them back up when the owner came pushing through in a fake nice, condescending way and just grabbed the items from his employees hands, and stormed back to the front of the store basically making my wife feel bad like he was blaming her. On top of that, it made his employee feel great I am sure. There is no reason to treat people like that when a simple accident happens -- especially when the cause is the poor display coupled with innocent shopping by a customer and employee. Just bad customer service from the owner all the way around. We just left -- I did not even feel like being there anymore. In fact, his demeanor just made us want to leave...
Read moreA friend took me to the gallery because she knew I was a rock lover and would love being around some of the most exquisite treasures Mother Earth offers. I found myself at the sound bowls and played a 8" turquoise gem infused crystal bowl in the G note for the throat chakra. The bowl sang to me and it was so gorgeous. Kaitlin, their energy medicine practitioner, was very helpful, educating me on the healing properties of not only the turquoise but also the G note. My buying experience was patient and informative, with no pressure whatsoever. The next day, I went back and sat with Kaitlin for about 90 min, sharing with her some of my journey and the need for sound therapy as a healing modality for my mind, body and spirit. My 2nd bowl, was the 12" black tourmaline (gem for root chakra) in an E note (solar plexus.) Not only are the bowls a work of art, they are perfect pitch 440hz and the sound is so clear and crisp. I now own a total of 5 bowls from The Rare Earth Gallery in Amethyst (gem for 3rd eye chakra, in F note for heart), Rose Quartz (gem for heart chakra, in D note for Sacral) and a clear quartz (B note for Crown) These gem infused bowls serve more than one purpose due to the gems. This store has something for everyone; jewelry, statement pieces for your home, tumbled stones, raw stones, Art pieces, fountains and so much more, you'll be "rocked" to your core if you love rocks! The service is amazing, everyone is so nice and knowledgeable and not pushy at all, which I appreciate so much. If you love rocks, this is a MUST visit destination. You don't know how much you need something from this gallery until you walk in...
