I've been here to Bamboo Palace many times also bragged about it. I have also invited family members to share the experience of the food because it was great at one point. But here lately the service was not what it once was in the past. The restaurant was so cold that you had to eat with a coat on. Once you put your food on the table the food was cold and dry. The Ice Tea was nasty, it didn't taste like Ice Tea, no matter what you did to it. It's was like the staff was so focus on what all you put on your plate from the buffet. To my knowledge a buffet is to go for what you know , that's why you pay the price to get whatever or how much you desire. I called before arriving to the restaurant to check to see if they have Senior citizens discounts, if the Lunch prices were different than the Dinner prices. The young lady who answered the phone stated no Seniors citizens discounts and the Lunch and Dinner prices were the same. So we arrived at about 2:50 pm on Friday not really noticing the time. There were no fried shrimps 🍤 on the buffet. So around 3:25 pm they put some out. So I go to grab a couple of 🍤 shrimps for a family member and a guy who told me that he was the manager grab my plate and stated that the 🍤 shrimps were only for the dinner crowd. I didn't understand and I asked him to explain? He said in order to get the dinner buffet it would be an extra $4.00. So I'm looking confused. I explained to him about the conversation I had with the young lady over the phone before entering the restaurant and she stated the prices for Lunch and Dinner were the same. I explained to him that we didn't have a clue of what time Lunch or Dinner were at the restaurant. I stated if this was told to us we would have waiting for Dinner. If that was the case I would have just used the tip money 💰 that we gave the young lady toward our bill because we got our on food she never came back to check on us or refill our drinks. I will not be returning back because of the food or the services. I explained to the manager that he needs to educate his staff. He said that they know the difference in the prices. I said I guess you think I'm just making this up. Unfortunately it's their loss because first of all I live 45 minutes away and it's not worth me wasting my time or energy on people who doesn't consider customers service as a priority. No it will not happen again on my 💸 dollars. I believe their main goals are focusing on the tips and not the services they provide or the quality of their food. Read moreWent here for the first time for a work lunch as a group. We were all very pleased with how everything looked, how all the food tasted, the food options and the service provided as well. It is very close to what I am accustomed to when dining at similar restaurants like King Buffet or Asian Buffet.
Firstly, the atmosphere and seating look very nice. Well spaced out, not cramped at all and nice layout and furniture design and decorations were nice.
The hot food was surprisingly very good. This is the first Asian style buffet I've found some good Mac N Cheese if that matters to anyone. I honestly expected much less for the cheaper priced weekday lunch. It makes me wonder what they add for the dinners and weekends! Even the sushi tasted very good and soft, even though maybe not visually great right away.
The dessert also had solid options and I felt nothing was lacking or of low quality.
Overall, I was excited to bring my colleagues to eat here and very happy that everyone enjoyed their time there with absolutely no complaints.
The staff was always helpful and eager to offer refills and take the plates. They helped us with taking pictures too!
I went to Ocean King Buffet not long before this one and the atmosphere was absolutely horrible compared to this place.

Read moreOrdered a large to-go meal and received an email confirmation with a total amount at the end of the email. Upon arriving to the restaurant, the total amount was higher than what was in the email confirmation. I questioned the front desk employee and the response was " tax is 6 cents". I was confused because Texas tax is 8.25%, which was already added to the total amount in the email receipt. So I asked for a print out receipt, which one was already printed out and it was the same amount as my email amount. But the front desk employee kept arguing with me saying on the computer it was a different amount. I was getting annoyed because two receipts (my email and the first print out from the restaurant was the same amount, but all of a sudden, when I arrive the amount has changed and I wasn't notified at all. Instead of the employee arguing with me, if I would have been updated on the correct amount, it would not have been a big deal. But the employee chose to keep arguing with me when there was proof of the original amount. On top of that, no to-go silverware was given for the to-go order. Very poor quality of service. Sad that this was a place that was recommended to me. Won't be coming back...
