Another good meal at Cilantro Grill! Kept it simple this time, the yellow curry with shrimp and a new dish on the menu Boat Noodle Soup with vermicelli noodles. Both were very tasty. The curry had a decent amount of shrimp, and the boat noodle soup was filled with beef. The broth in the boat noodle soup was a bit sweet for our taste, we tend to steer clear of sweetness with beef and pork. A glass of riesling balanced the meal. The restaurant was more crowded this time around, which was good to see. Recommend Cilantro Grill for good Thai (and Hawaiian) cuisine.
Update February 19, 2024
Recently stopped by Cilantro Grill on a Sunday evening... not too crowded when we arrive shortly after 6PM, but by the time we left at 745PM, the place was pretty full! Why? The food is great! We had another awesome meal this time around...
Started with a green jasmine tea and a nice glass of Riesling! Our first food was the egg rolls, first time having them at CG. As with all their food, the rolls came out piping hot, we had to let them sit for a minute to be able to eat them! LOL Bravo! Served with a sweet, spicy sauce on the side. We asked for something with a little more heat, and a small dish of red chili sauce was delivered. It was the perfect pairing with the egg rolls.
For entrees we tried different dishes than our last visit. Pad Thai chicken and shrimp for my wife, red curry with shrimp on my side of the table. Both dishes were da bomb! Of course, both served piping hot! The pad thai was a total flavor bomb! Fresh ingredients, expertly prepared, and the spices, seasoning were on point. The red curry was equally fantastic! Oh so tasty, and the veggies and shrimp were so good. You know, the veggies cooked until done but still crispy and crunchy, and the shrimp a light pink, peak of flavor!
It's not a fancy place... tables and chairs in a room. The fresh flowers on every table were a nice touch, the roses even smelled like roses. Service was great again, attentive but not intrusive. We'll definitely be back to try more on the menu... stay tuned. Highly recommend Cilantro Grill!
We have been driving by this place for a couple of years, and never thought to stop in or even check it out ... Thanks to my fellow Yelpers, I finally looked through reviews today, and we knew we had to try it! Everything about the meal was on point!
The service was great, attentive but not intrusive... thanks to the staff for that. Moreover, on the service side, the wait staff skillfully guided us through "heat" or "spicy" levels on a couple of orders and thank goodness they did... they saved us from ourselves!
We started with the fried calamari... we're pretty picky about this appetizer, and I must admit it's frequently one of the appetizers we order at any restaurant and use it as a barometer of how well the kitchen is preparing, cooking, and presenting their food. The fried calamari at CG was outstanding! Nice, thin batter, fried crispy, and presented piping hot! The calamari had the perfect "mouth chew," firm enough to let you know it was fresh and totally without any fishy taste. The spicy creamy sauce on the side was also fantastic, the perfect complement to the fried seafood.
We ordered the green papaya salad next... this was our first in-depth conversation with the wait staff about heat levels in the food. The salad was HUGE, easily entree size, and the spices of garlic, lime, tamarind and hot chilis was expertly balanced. Throw in a handful of halved small red and green tomatoes, and peanuts ... OMG! Heaven on a plate!
For our entrees, we selected the garlic butter shrimp and the green curry with chicken. The shrimp was wonderfully prepared, de-veined but still shell on, deep fried and then "wok'd" with the garlic and other spices... it was a total...
Read moreWe had a party of 8 for dinner tonight and all of us enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and the people at Cilantro Grill! Since we planned to celebrate the birthday of one of the friends in our party of 8, I called and spoke with the manager earlier in the day and he was more than accommodating to our request for a table for 8 and to keep our birthday cake in the kitchen until we were "contemplating" dessert. I was responsible for arriving early and delivering the cake, but a large wreck on 183 caused some panic that I wouldn't arrive on time (before the birthday boy). We called the restaurant and one of the lovely staff members met us outside to take the cake before the rest of the group arrived! Upon entering the restaurant, we were welcomed by the manager, who led us to a table ready for our party of 8. The food was absolutely amazing and delicious! We ordered an entree of either the BBQ Beef, Kaula Pork, or Pad Thai Shrimp with Chicken and all were outstanding - fresh, hot, and generous. We were able to choose the level of heat/spiciness for our entree or choose to have it on the side, which was nice. Three of us ordered the Thai Iced Tea, which was very good. Water was available for all of us as well. It was very nice to have a choice between Hawaiian or Thai cuisine. The entrees were a good size and a few of us took our leftovers home. After dinner, the gracious staff wheeled out the birthday cake with candles and led us in a hilarious yet heartwarming rendition of "Happy Birthday to You!" Our friend was completely surprised and touched by the effort and so were we. The staff at Cilantro Grill went above and beyond to make our dinner and birthday evening special! They definitely made an impression on all of us and we cannot wait to return! Thank you so much,...

Very welcoming staff and nice presentation of restaurant and food.
The Arnold Palmers use Thai tea I think, which makes sense. The flavor of Thai tea works better than regular sweet tea, I’d say. It’s less cloyingly sweet and a more harmonious balance of flavor.
We got the chicken katsu, BBQ chicken, and green curry. Took mango sticky rice home. Large portions- I was the only one who ate everything, because my energy needs from exercising is higher. Perfectly satisfying for me.
The chicken katsu was crispy and light, BBQ chicken tender and sauce very delicious, green curry is rich and nourishing. Both chicken dishes came with rice and macaroni salad on the side. Tastes like crab in the macaroni, as it reminded me of crab salad filled onigiri but in macaroni form. Flavors and textures of the whole dishes with their sides go very well together. I’m the type that likes a bit to have a bit of everything in it, though still distinct, to see how it all fits.
Mango sticky rice was fantastic even after a day in the fridge and being reheated. Hard to go wrong with fruit, coconut milk (and/or condensed milk), and rice
Surprised it wasn’t busier- actually the quietness was the only detracting thing about it. Usually I would like a calmer restaurant. Can seem like it’s not good enough, but don’t let it stop you. It’s popular for takeout, so I think that’s the real reason it’s not as busy for dining in.
(Green curry wasn’t an option in the food google has listed to be reviewed, so I selected the red curry, as our waitress mentioned they are similar, though red is apparently...
