Located on the east side of the Georgetown/Round Rock area, just south of E. Whitestone, on N Bell Blvd and nestled into a shopping plaza, is a quaint little sushi restaurant with some of the best sushi I have tasted in America... And that's saying something because I'm a trucker and have eaten in all CONUS states. We were kindly greeted almost as soon as we walked into the restaurant and seated promptly. Our drink order was then taken. Shortly after receiving our drinks, our orders were taken. My wife and I ordered the Gyoza ("Pot Stickers" for the westerners reading this), Beef Bulgogi, the Good Night roll, and I ordered a Thai Tea. My youngest brother ordered with his wife, the Good Night roll, Gyoza, Wagyu Beef, Octopus Balls (Dough balls filled with whole octopus parts, not "octopus testicals", you sickos), and Bluefin Tuna.

Our orders came out relatively quick, starting with the appetizers of Gyoza, Octo-Balls, and Wagyu Beef. All of which was super tasty... My wife's Bulgogi came out before my Good Night Roll. It was very delicious! So fer as my sushi roll, it was on point. I'm not sure what was in it, but it was fried and had that spicy yellow-orange sauce, Eel sauce, and some other sauce. In a bit of luck, we were also able to obtain FRESH WASABI!! It was my first time having fresh wasabi, and I will never eat that nasty paste stuff ever again... Fresh wasabi or bust for me! My brother ordered last minute, the Bluefin tuna. It was phenomental. It was 2, 3 inch (or so) by 1 inch (or so) pieces laid on their own mound of rice, topped with a small dab of caviar and a little bit of thinly sliced spring onion. It was certainly FRESH tuna. It had ZERO fishy smell, and was VERY smooth in eating.

All in all, if you want good sushi and don't mind a little bit of a drive, Sushi Moto is your go-to place (for me as of right now). If you come here, expect a great atmosphere, great staff, and even GREATER food! You won't be...

I was initially sad to see Sushi Moto take the place of Poke & Bowl. My feelings changed after I ordered takeout from Sushi Moto a week or so ago, consisting of the spicy tuna roll (very boring pass-the-sniff-test-for-a-sushi-place-roll) and the good night roll (deep fried roll of spicy tuna, spicy crab, avocado, cream cheese, shrimp tempura, topped with spicy mayo, eel sauce and Japanese mayo), chicken katsu for the husband and gyoza (sniff test).

The rolls and dishes did not disappoint. I wasn't feeling particularly hungry for dinner and thought maybe a 2-roll and half an order of gyoza situation would be adequate for a "light dinner." WRONG. It was a lot and I.ATE.ALL.OF.IT. I am generally hungry after eating sushi...not this place. Just allow my photo to speak for itself, in all it's half deep-fried glory. Lastly, I really loved the ease of ordering (and paying online) whereas with Poke & Bowl, you couldn't. I also love that Tea Pillar is so close by -- my husband and I tag-team our pick-ups from both spots.

PS. There...

After reading the reviews I wanted to try this place out. So sorry that I did. I ordered the shagy dog roll, after taking one bite I had to spit it out. It tasted like a bowl of sugar was poured on it. I asked the waitress why this roll was so sweet? She told me it wasn't sweet. I reiterated that it tasted very sweet and I did not care for. The waitress shrugged her shoulders and shook her head saying it's not sweet and walked away from my table. I thought maybe she was going to get the manager but no, she brought me my check and asked me if I wanted a to go box. I said no thank you it was not good. I then looked at the check and seen I was being charged for the roll that I didn't even eat. I asked the waitress why I was being charged for the roll, she said you ordered it you pay. I told her the least they could do was give me some type of discount. She said no, you pay. Absolutely horrible customer service. I will...

I highly recommend. Small restaurant with excellent sushi/sashimi and service. Had the truffle chu-toro sashimi appetizer and the silver sushi combo. Both were delicious and it was evident the chef takes pride in his craft. Things I might would change? Offer a menu instead of directing guests to an online menu that was obviously designed for computer screens not a phone. The server's menu knowledge was a huge help. I would not put the spicy ponzu sauce on the chu-toro. It's a delicious sauce but too much masks the flavor of the chu-toro and the truffle oil. Painting the side of the plate with it would be better. Also, I prefer sashimi served near room temperature and the chu-toro was cold. Unlike sushi, it's not wrong to serve sashimi cold just not my preference. Along with the server's menu knowledge, she was friendly and eager to accommodate. I've trained a lot of servers and she is a gem.
