We just visited this restaurant for my husbands birthday. We've never been here and were recommended it. I should have run the other day. Food was horrible, service was horrible, upcharging AND we got food poisoning!
They seated us quickly, let water jugs but no cups for over 7 minutes. Finally, a server arrived to take our orders. We asked for cups and ordered appetizers and soup. We had to ask for plates and bowls for our food. The only time the server came around was to 1) place our entree order, deliver food or the check. We ordered Brussels, which were still way undercooked, the calamari was good. Peanut sauce with satay was nasty, the tom kha was flavorful but minimal meat for the cost.
Once we recieved our entrees, she never returned to check on us. We were short forks and napkins and the server came to the table next to ours but did not visit us. We had to get up and walk to the front where they were hanging out to get cutlery. THIS IS NOT GOOD SERVICE.
When it was time to pay, she walks over with the machine and gives the cost. No receipt, nothing. I asked for a read out. She did get it but there was a $4 upcharge in sticky rice and $2 for a fried egg. When I ordered one entree, I asked for the egg to be in the side because we had an egg allergy with one person, but others can eat it. She said no problem. I told her "as long as it's not additional cost, please put it on the side."
Sure enough, she still charged me and wouldn't remove the charge. At that point, I was livid. The service quality was HORRIBLE, the up charges and no mention is robbery. And not to mention, they got 18% built in tip so they didn't even try.
We've worked in the service industry, this is not normal. And definitely not acceptable for the $ this restaurant charges. Total robbery.
We got home and family ended up with severe food poisoning all night long. Horrible.
RUN AWAY. Don't even go here. I will not recommend this...
Read moreTerrible terrible…TERRIBLE service! I decided to try this place as I heard good things but we were tremendously disappointed. As we walked in at 9:25, we were told the kitchen would close at 10 and ALSO that we need to be out of there by 10 (doesn’t make sense). We sat down and immediately someone comes up and begins to rush our order, saying we had to order immediately as their kitchen is closing. Feeling super stressed, we asked for 2 minutes. Less than 30 seconds later another employee came and told us we HAD TO order now and was avoiding eye contact and looking irritated. She stated that the kitchen was closing and that there was an employee who was a minor that couldn’t stay past 10PM which was complete BS. We quickly ordered an appetizer and 3 dishes. Once our water and food came out, everything looked fine but it reeked of “outside”. Our water smelled funky, the chicken had a deeply disturbing smell, and we felt like we were being watched. Our appetizer came after the main dishes btw, we figured they had forgot about it. We finished our food quickly and thought this horrendous experience was over BUT NO. When the lady came with a handheld POS system, she stated our total and I knew something was up. The total DID NOT match what we ordered. We came to realize that they themselves had included gratuity into the bill which they CLEARLY state on their website that they only do for parties of 7 or more, which we were obviously not. I felt cheated and robbed, they probably weren’t expecting a good tip so they decided to tip themselves. If we were told that the kitchen was closing at 9:30 when we walked in, we would not have stayed and rushed the employees. The lack of communication by the employees was problematic and we paid the price for it. Overall, the food is okay, nothing great but the service is ABSOLUTELY REVOLTING! Never coming...
