If there was such a thing as no stars, they would’ve gotten it. I am warning everyone because I’m concerned for everyone else’s health do not go there. I was there last Thursday evening and they were crickets by the register and while I waited for my food on the table. There were crickets on the tables and on the floor all over. When I mentioned it to the only young boy who could speak English, as the other young girls could not, he just said “I know.” When I finally received my burritos, I mentioned the Red salsa at the salsa bar Weight on top and look very bad. They just said that that was the way they make their salsa. Because of the crickets on the tables and everywhere, I decided to take it home and eat it. Not long after eating it, I started feeling very dizzy, strange, and I could barely get up and walk to my bedroom. it happened so quickly. I tried to call 311 and was speaking very slowly, but short of calling an ambulance and paying in arm and a leg for it as I couldn’t drive by myself at that point, no one could help me. I decided to make my way to my bedroom. I don’t remember much else other than I was completely out of my mind, my head was spinning and I felt very strange and didn’t wake up until almost noon the next day. I don’t remember much else. I know what food poisoning is and I did not have diarrhea or throwing up. I just felt like , my head was messed up and I was drugged. In fact the next morning I knew I was drugged. Angry at myself for choosing that restaurant instead of Chick-fil-A last night, Monday evening I decided to go back but to take photos this time if there were still crickets there. I had my phone on video as I walked in the door. There were no customers in there. It was dead. As I was videoing the dead and live crickets on the floor by the register and walked around the tables and by the salsa bar, I was approached by two Hispanic young girls speaking Spanish to me. I told them I didn’t speak Spanish or understand. The young boy came up asking me in English if he could help me. I said no, and that I was obviously videoing all the crickets and went on to angrily tell him that I regretted coming there Thursday night, and that they had drugged me and that I was going to warn others so that they don’t go there and experience what I did. I had food poisoning in the past and I know what that’s like, but I did not have food poisoning. I was literally drugged. I did further research online in regards to effects. I am 71 years old and live alone. I’m glad I was able to make it to my bed and that I made it through the night. I am in shock that they are still in business as they still have crickets everywhere since last week. They were even crawling on the tables. I did take video so I have proof. I saved the food in my refrigerator that I didn’t finish. I wish that I would’ve thought to video or take pictures of the bad salsa last Thursday evening and the crickets. That is why I went back and naturally, they were still there. I don’t wish this on anyone and I have never in my life ever experienced being drugged. I blame myself for even going there. However, I am thankful that I did make it through to the next day because I had no idea what was happening to me. I filed a complaint with the food inspectors. I have also done research and it is said that crickets can cause and carry diseases and cause health problems. Since they are still there from last week, I’m sure they have quite an infestation. Please, please, please people beware. I do not wish...
Read moreWe were really excited to try this place because we're always looking for yummy authentic hole in the walls, but they're always so far away. This place is a lot closer, so we decided to give it a shot. Unfortunately, it wasn't very good. We bought the sirloin plate, beef panchos, al pastor tacos, chocolate cake, a horchata, and a jaimaica agua fresca. Everything totaled around $50.
The beef panchos were pretty good! The beef had a great flavor and was tender, it was cheesy. Overall, very solid nachos. If that was the only thing that we got, I would have easily given this place 4 stars. The horchata was very refreshing, sweet and nutty. The horchata also gets 4 stars.
The al pastor was just ok... it tasted like it was trying to be chorizo. It didn't really taste like al pastor. It was ok, but not the best. The jamaica agua fresca was also just ok. It was just a refreshing cranberry juice. These two were average so like 2.5 to 3 stars.
The real problem children were the sirloin plate and the chocolate cake. The sirloin plate came with beans, rice, avocado and lettuce, grilled onions, tortilla, and diced sirloin. For the most part the ingredients separately tasted good, but when you put everything together, the flavors didn't mix well. And the sirloin was absolutely disgusting. Like horrid. I don't know what happened. I had really high hopes for it because of the panchos. I don't even know how you can get this type of flavor, but it tasted like dirty dish water??? It wasn't all of it. It's almost like they cleaned the stove or something and that side of the meat got dunked in the cleaner or maybe they washed the lettuce in dirty dish water and it seeped into the meat? I don't know but that was one of the most repugnant, disgusting flavors I have ever had the displeasure to try. -10,000 out of 5 stars. It made my top 3 worst beef dishes. That was horrendous. That was the most expensive thing we bought and it was absolutely not worth it. I had to throw away most of that. The only thing I really ate out of everything was the beans and the avocado. Everything else was terrible and thrown away. This dish alone made me not want to go back, but I decided to give the chocolate cake a chance and hoped that it was the saving grace I needed.
The chocolate cake was....pretty bad. The frosting was light and refreshing. It wasn't too sweet, had a nice smooth, chocolaty flavor. But the cake itself was... D R Y. Drrryyyyyyy. Like... sandpaper dry. Like you took a scoop of that good frosting, threw it into some dirt and ate it. Not good. 1 out of 5.
I probably won't return here. But if you're looking to try it, get the beef panchos and the horchata. You'll have a much better...
Read moreI came by to place a large order of breakfast tacos and unfortunately had a disappointing customer service experience on 8.27 drive-thru. I accidentally paid with my personal card instead of my company card, and I immediately apologized and asked if the transaction could be refunded so I could use the correct card. I was told “no” three times before finally being told a manager would need to be called. When the manager arrived, there was no communication directed toward me, only conversation in Spanish (which I do understand). Eventually the refund was processed, but the interaction felt dismissive.
When my order was handed to me at the drive-thru, the young woman didn’t acknowledge me, and when I waited politely to ask for napkins and red sauce, she appeared frustrated and walked away after quickly handing me the bag. The lack of courtesy left me feeling unwelcome.
The food itself was excellent — the breakfast tacos were delicious, the tortillas, so good! I had even planned to order lunch for my team all week while we are working across the street. However, because of how I was treated, I decided not to place any further orders, and I shared my experience with my team as well.
Respectful and professional service goes a long way, especially when the product is good. Had my situation been handled with basic courtesy and understanding, I would have gladly continued to order breakfast amd...
