One of the most honest thing that I can say about Austin Community College, as a gifted student that has been in the gifted and talented program for 8 consecutive years along with winning a ton of award during my time in middle and high school, is that first, its academic does not support me very well where personally most of the classes i take sometimes require me to write only 4 essays or less (which is less than what I have to write in high school) along with the fact that it does not allow more creativity than what I put my money into, although the Honors Program, to be honest, was good but only made me to become a researcher that typically does things in a college but not somebody that is an independent thinker like Isaac Newton. Despite the fact that I personally am bored with college, I still give it a 4 star because the college have done well in seeking to build relationships and rapport with students like myself and have done their best to actually put forth my need before anything else. This is what I see as a valuable asset in college and I want that all college to remember this from Austin Community...
Read moreIf you're associated in with the military in any way, DO NOT go here or any other campuses. The VA department is non-existant. Read and believe other reviews. The admissions process was a nightmare. It takes months for them to evaluate any paperwork, and you'll spend months trying to contact them only for them to say your paperwork is in the "orphan folder". Instructors are hit and miss. Always look at Rate my professor because some of these "professors" aren't great. The departments refuse to accept many transfer core credits from other community colleges. They love to act like their classes are so different and advanced, but it's literally the same concepts and lessons. Wasted hundreds on the same class I've already taken and passed. There is no guidance on the enrollment process either. You'll be running around lost. The campuses in Round Rock and Highland are...
Read moreTo register for the classes you want, every faculty member recommends you get on the website at midnight and try your best to register. The problem with this is that the internet capabilities of ACC are far below acceptable. I stayed up until four in the morning waiting for the website to let me on. After four hours of waiting, I went to sleep. When I woke up, the website let me know that the class that I had waited four hours for was full. After inquiring about what I should do from here, the only response I received was "That means you should take another class". I see no reason why anybody should put their trust in a school that so blatantly ignores a huge issue such as this and shows absolutely no compassion or understanding towards...
