Zatka Bites (Vada Pav) — Restaurant in Cedar Park

2nd visit: visited after a few months, the vada pav was really good this time! The Sabudana Wada was good too, served with a dahi-cucumber raita (typical accompaniment for this dish). Their Pav Bhaji was also good, it had a great home made taste and was not oily at all - plus the Pav served with it was a yummy masala Pav!

Atmosphere: Seating options are picnic tables as this is an outdoor food truck park - however there are ants around and of course mosquitoes so come prepared with insect repellent if you’re someone that bugs like to single out.

First visit: We visited Zatka Vada Pav today on a friends recommendation. We got the Vada Pav, Paneer Frankie, Chicken Frankie, Misal Pav, Tea, and Koum sarbat. The Vada Pav was quite good, tasted homemade, although I wouldn’t say it’s the best in the area. The Misal Pav was really good, good amount of spice/oil and they give the farsan in a separate paper bag so it doesn’t get soggy! The Kokomo sarbat was really good, refreshing without being too sweet (the next time we visit I’ll be sure to ask how they make it and if they add any sugar to it!). Both the Frankies were tasty and felt quite authentic although for the size of the roll they were kind of pricey at $10 each. We also couldn't resist trying the Kheema Pav, and it was equally delicious. The rich, aromatic kheema filling paired perfectly with the soft paav, creating a symphony of flavors that danced on our palates.

Amazing vada pav location in North Austin/cedar Park area. I had tried them couple of times and vada pav have been consistently good. Price is $5 per vada pav. They make homemade fresh bun, which turns to be very soft and taste amazing. Aloo vada is also not super oily and not spicy. We got our super hot, meaning it just just fried after placing the order. They also put some green and red chutney which are probably coriander and date chutney. These bring good moist texture. The green pepper on the side also moderate spicy. Overall heavenly treat. We went there on Fri 5:30pm and got our vada pav in 2 mins. Owner was asking us feedback while we're finishing vada pav. He also offered the chai (on the house), which I think very thoughtful and kind way of making connection with customer. I didn't try it so can't provide feedback on tea.
