We ended up here as a walkin after we were unsatisfied with a competitor hotel. The pool was warm and well maintained. There was a got tub, too, and plenty of pool towels stocked in the pool room. The staff was beyond nice. There is a snack area to purchase drinks or chips in the lobby, yet there was complimentary popcorn with flavor options, sweet tea, lemonade, and water during the daytime hours for free for patrons. We requested an extra blanket which was brought to our room. We did have trouble with the room keys a few times but was not a big deal because we got new cards, which worked fine. There were two landline phones in our room. One did not work, but the other one did work. I am not sure why there were two there. The ice machine worked properly on our floor, and the one in the lobby area worked too. I was pleased there was a restroom nearby to change into dry clothes before heading up the elevator back to my hotel room. However, several people did not change clothes and dripped water all over the floor, making it slippery when wet. This was not a problem for long, though, because the front desk staff made sure to mop up the water and put a safety sign up promptly. I was very pleased with the cleanliness of this hotel, even in the elevators. One elevator went out for a few hours but was fixed quickly. No one got stuck on it. This did not cause a problem or a long wait for the elevator. The hotel had great informational signage, which had a photo of the swimming pool, breakfast area, and the workout center. Next to the photo was a beginning open time and a closing time for each. Also, the signs had the room check-in and out times posted. There was a city map and taxicab number near the hotel entrance. The air-conditioner in the room worked well, and we were in charge of the temperature in it. I was extremely pleased with the attention to detail at this hotel with the decor, which matched (the free bathroom soap, the linens, and the artwork found inside) the individual hotel room to the breakfast area and lobby decorations. I know this is not a must, but having a well thought out decor theme that is consistent in each part of the hotel is pleasing. The beds were not too hard or soft but could have been a bit more comfortable. The bathroom hot water and toilet worked fine. There was a desk with a chair, a frigerator, a microwave, a separate sitting chair with a lamp nearby it, and our beds. There was a large screen TV loaded with lots of news and movie channels. If the beds were more comfortable. I could have lived at this hotel. The room cleaning service did a great job initially and even came back to our room to replace our trash with fresh bags. Additionally, they gave us extra fresh towels without being asked to do so on our second day there. The staff was great! The food service chef which worked on day 1 was different than the one that was there on day 2, but it did not matter because both were professional and quickly added fresh food to the hot breakfast area while making sure to keep the other food and drink items stocked too. After breakfast concludes, a cleaning staff member comes in to steam and sterilize the floor to keep it fresh as well as someone there to vacuum. I was pleased with the upkeep of the fitness center, the pool, hallway, and restrooms that were downstairs because everything needed was stocked. For example, shelves for towels in the fitness center and hand sanitizer stations, which are located in several areas within the hotel, were full. Everything was cleaned often, and the chefs who washed their hands and still wore gloves, prepared the breakfast in a kitchen with the door opened so you could see their expertise at work while noticing the cleanliness of the room too. Despite the inconvenience of a room key not working as hoped, and the bed not being super soft, this hotel was marvelous. You should stay at the Sleep Inn if you enjoy being treated respectfully, like a clean room, want a good breakfast with several food options, like workouts, and a pool with...
Read moreMy stay was TERRIBLE!|When I arrived, the room I was given on the 2nd floor smelled like an ashtray where someone had tried to shampoo the carpet to cover it up! There was a bug on the door, I hope it wasn't a bedbug. Then when I was looking around the room, and the back of the door was GREASY...Like gross. The door frame was sticky and greasy almost like someone halfway tried to clean it, or maybe it was bug spray since I had already seen a bug. The shower was SO SMALL in the bathroom, so small, it looked like a COFFIN! I thought, "This is NOT going to work!"|So I went downstairs to complain, and the girl moved me to a "Suite" on the 4th floor. It didn't smell and had a decent shower/tub combo so I decided OK. That was Sunday the 19th. Then, the next morning I went to my conference and then came back after in the early evening and my keys wouldn't work and I couldn't get in my room! So I had to go back downstairs to have the keys reswiped.|Then I go into my room, and there is a LOUD dog coming from down the hall. I went downstairs and asked about it and the front desk girl (about 20, long fingernails, eyes that rolled!) says, "Oh (laughing) there's a service dog up there."|So, I went back up... and I can tell you..it was NOT A SERVICE DOG! There was clearly no one in the room with the dog, becuase it was barking, and scratching the door and sticking it's paws under the door...clearly, a large unsupervised dog. So, then I called down to the front desk and the girl that I KNEW was there....she wouldn't answer the phone!!! So, I called the number on my cell phone and sure enough...she answered! I Was Being Avoided! Unacceptable! So, I said, "oh, surprise, you are there!" I proceeded to tell her that i knew the dog wasn't a service dog and what we were experiencing. She said, "it had a vest." Anyone can make a vest for a damn dog. And I love dogs. What I don't love are people who LIE and try to say the dog is performing a service it ain't performing. Or people that lie and don't take care of their pets. So, since I had her on the phone I asked her what I needed to do to check out early (Tuesday) instead of Wednesday because I was having a terrible stay and wanted to go somewhere else. She says,. "then just check out."|SO, Tuesday a.m. I go downstairs to confirm that I can check out early and get my 1 day refund, and I'm told by a young man that I CANNOT get a refund, since I booked thru a 3rd party. (Expedia). So... I was told wrong which made me even angrier!|Tuesday I go to my conference, come back, and AGAIN... my keys aren't working. I had to go back down and request help AGAIN with my keys. |I was NEVER greeted when I walked in the building, every interaction with the exception of the 1st girl who changed my room...everything was Negative!!! Even that 1st girl never apologized, wanted to go check the room I had, I guess to see if I was crazy...I told everyone with my group (who stayed at the Kalahari resort for our conference while I acted cheap and stayed at the NightmareSleep hotel NOT To stay there. I plan to also post this on...
