Coffee, food, & friends😁 Cafe Saint Pio has it going on!
Yesterday Louise and I stopped by for breakfast and had a lovely time at this bustling neighborhood spot.
The coffee shop is in a restored corner location in the Czech Village, and oozes retro charm. From the corner entrance to the high ceilings to the antique service counter, every detail speaks of nostalgia and a love of the neighborhood gathering place.
Our breakfast was excellent! The burrito was delicious, exactly what one is looking for! I won't lie, it was gone in moments😋
The blueberry muffin was well above average, in fact it was so good that Louise went straight back to the counter to order another to take home!
Quiche can be a gamble, I love to make it and eat it, but quite often it is dry or too dense when ordering out. This quiche was perfect! Super flavorful, with all of the various types and preparations of veggies being cooked just so, and the egg body was evidently made by a black belt master of the brunch arts.
I would highly recommend the quiche to everyone, and if one likes quiche it is a must!!
Louise asked that I make special mention of the coffee, she is a coffee aficionado and has exceptionally high standards for our favorite morning brew.
Their coffee is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ excellence on the Louise scale, and that is high praise indeed.
The last part of our experience I'll write of is the most important to me, the people. This place is bursting with a positive, high-energy vibe that starts my day off right. Bordering on being almost too loud at times, the friendly chatter nonetheless was quite welcome.
I ran into one of my favorite peeps from Goldfinch Cyclery, Lillian, who not only brightened my day, but reminded me of just how much I love my tribe❤️
And speaking of beloved tribe members, I just missed two of my faves, Kat Richter, Realtor, Keller Williams Legacy Group and Alicia Bogard, Licensed Massage Therapist 🥰
This is rapidly becoming one of my fave spots, hope to see...
Read moreCafe Saint Pio is a hidden gem in the heart of Prague, wait, I mean Cedar Rapids. :) Located just a stone's throw away from the city's main square and NewBo District. The moment you step inside, you'll be greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere, with cozy seating areas and charming post historic bank decor (see the storage area, as it's a valut) decor that reflects the cafe's rich Cezh, and Catholic church heritage.
For lunch, I highly recommend trying the traditional Cezh dishes, such as the Ruban sandwich, Macchiato drink, and dirty Chi drink. The food is always fresh and delicious, and the portions are generous enough to satisfy even the most enormous appetites.
But what sets Cafe Saint Pio apart is its exceptional service. The staff is amiable and attentive, always going above and beyond to ensure every guest feels welcome and comfortable. Whether you're a regular or a first-time visitor, you'll be treated like family from the moment you walk in the door.
The location of Cafe Saint Pio is also ideal, as it's situated in a bustling :) Czech neighborhood that's easy to access by public transportation or on foot. Plus, the cafe's outdoor seating nearby is the perfect spot to people-watch and soak up the vibrant energy of the community.
Speaking of people, the patrons at Cafe Saint Pio are a diverse and interesting crowd, ranging from locals to tourists and everyone in between. But despite their differences, they all share a common love for good food, great company, and a welcoming atmosphere.
And if you're in a hurry, don't worry - Cafe Saint Pio prides itself on its speedy service and efficient delivery. Whether grabbing a quick bite on your lunch break or ordering takeout for dinner, you can always count on Cafe Saint Pio to deliver your food promptly and with a smile.
Overall, I highly recommend Cafe Saint Pio to anyone looking for a truly authentic Cezh dining experience with warm hospitality, delicious food, and a vibrant...
Read moreI found this place by accident looking for the Czech Slovak Museum, several years ago now. When I saw the name, I had to stop, for there must be a story here. Sure enough, there was, and not just a story, but the best cappuccino I had ever had. They do them Italian-style, just a few ounces, and not too much milk.
Ever since, I have gone back whenever I am in the area, or even near enough to sort of justify a detour! Every time, the owner recognizes me and remembers my name, even when it's been a year since the last visit. The coffee is fantastic, the food I've tried has always been excellent, and the atmosphere -- that important element of any coffee shop that makes or breaks it -- is lovely. You'll see the whole gamut of conservatives to liberals all in one building, and everyone is welcome there. The whole experience is just amazingly pleasant.
And the story! It's a good one, and a true one, and explains the name, the little statue of Saint Pio over the fridge, and the picture of Our Lady of Perpetual Help on the back wall. I won't tell it here, because it is the owner's, and I wouldn't take that from him, but ask! Ask if you are Catholic, for sure, but even if you aren't and are just interested in saints, symbolism, and the power of prayer (dare I say miracles?), ask. You will be...
