Your experience begins right upon entry where your greeted by sleek class mixed with the retro building design/ murals and lighting. Your eyes can’t help but catch the old vault in the back that’s been filled in as a private meeting room. You’ll be quickly greeted by friendly staff to get you situated. Great local beer choices amongst other classic cocktails and wine. We had the crab cakes to start with and they were incredible garnished with fresh dill I believe. The shaved Brussel sprout caesar was so fresh and flavorful. Beef tenderloin medallions were catching my eye and they did not disappoint. The Demi-Glace sauce was to die for. Full at this point but I couldn’t resist trying my wife’s Carbonara and wow that is a must try. Our child got chicken strips with potato fingerlings. Dessert time was up and we decided both for the flavor of the day cheesecake which was orange blueberry, i’m not a big cheesecake guy but needless to say there was none leftover. service through the evening was prompt, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu items. We went to Peppercorn at the bank last night for my birthday. We are familiar with them as they catered our wedding and were very excited to be able to go for dinner last night as they recently opened their restaurant back up. The food was AMAZING. Not pictured was the southwestern crab cakes and shaved Brussel sprout Caesar salad. We decided to order the 40oz bone in ribeye with the mashed potatoes and corn to split. You could split this meal between 2-4 people it was so much food but it was all well seasoned and so good. Peppercorn at the Bank feels like the best kept secret that shouldn’t be a secret anymore. This event space is absolutely incredible. It is unique, authentic, and timeless. I struggled so hard to find a space in Cedar Rapids to meet the needs of our group and offer a space where our group could privately dine and enjoy time together.
