Schoop's Hamburgers — Restaurant in Center Township

Schoop’s Hamburgers is a region favorite and is known for its unique culinary twist on the Hamburger. Instead of an even Burger, they specialize in a crispy edge burger. The burger is tender and juicy in the middle and crispy on the outside and edges. A patron may feel free to order a traditional burger, if they like. The menu is a traditional, all-American Hamburger menu. There are chicken, pork and fish options, as well. For the lighter eater, there are several different salads to choose from and there is a grilled chicken option. Of note, there are hidden gems at the Crown Point Schoop’s. For instance, each soup is made from scratch and are in house recipes. Soups such as the Zuppa Toscana, Italian Sausage, Cream of Chicken Shell and Ham & Bean are truly 5 Star. The breakfast is unbeatable in the Chicagoland area. Unbelievable attention to detail by the staff to bring a breakfast...

Man, I wanted to love this place. I walked in and seated myself as the sign said. After 8 minutes or so and no one showing up I got up to see if I needed to order up front. (first time here)

As soon as I stood up a lady said they would be right there and I was quickly served. I wish my receipt said who my waitress was, she was AWESOME! She quickly took my order, and after a few minutes my meal arrived.

My burger was a HUGE disappointment. I ordered a double cheeseburger, the meat patty was maybe 50% larger than the bun and it was pressed so flat and burned on the outside most of it was not edible. I wish I'd taken pictures, but seriously...how flat does the meat need to be pressed? When I take a bite and it's crunching maybe...

I can't say enough about these burgers. Always spot on. Never a disappointment. Been going to Schoop's, numerous ones throughout the years in NW Indiana and they are always so good. The type of place you look forward to during the week. Their burgers are like commercial style burgers, meaning if they had commercials for this place, the burger you order would look like the ones in the commercial. I personally enjoy the single, mickey, patty melt. My wife loves chicago style hot dog and my son loves his chicken tenders. Love this place and I don't care that prices have gone up because this burgers hit. No other burger compares.
