It was a wonderful experience spending a weekend at the Continental Hotel in Centerville. It was like stepping back into the good life of the good old days. A nicely restored building alive with a cheerful staff. What a great feeling to wake up from a good nights sleep on a comfortable bed followed by a refreshing soft water shower. Then a delicious breakfast served with a big smile. By coincidence the front of the hotel was surrounded by numerous vintage automobiles belonging the friendly members of a car club that also spent the weekend at the Continental Hotel. We spent the day in Centerville, unfortunately we forgot we were an hour behind. The waitress and chef were more than willing to accommodate us and we were happy to a half hour for the prime rib dinner. The pretzel and beer cheese appetizer was fantastic. The prime rib was absolutely amazing and the portions were huge. Our waitress Tonia was on top of it, she was attentive and very friendly. We were extremely impressed that an older lady who was obviously a regular was greeted by name, not just from her server but all the employees stopped by to say hello to her.
