It’s unfortunate I feel obligated to give a poor review. We go to crater cafe pretty often and have always had a pleasant experience. Yesterday, 4th of July, we called in an order to go at 825am knowing it might start getting busy with all the festivities going on downtown. We were told it’d be around 30 minutes for our 3 breakfast sandwiches. We got to the cafe around 8:35am paid for our order knowing we still had time until it was ready. About An hour passed (9:20am)by and we checked with the lady at the front counter how much longer it would be since we anticipated watching the parade with our kids at 9:30. She told me about another 10-15 minutes. Mind you, the whole time we were there they only made one other food order (in which that lady was frustrated bc she had too waited almost an hour and a half for her food). We were one of the first people in the cafe other than this other lady when we ordered and no other orders went out…Being the patient and understanding person I am, I let the gal know at the counter that we had already been waiting an hour and they might want to let people know ahead of time a better time frame for food to refrain from upset customers. She replied with a snooty attitude that they are very busy and it’s hard to give an good estimate on time….again we were one of the first people in there aside from the other elderly lady that ordered 2 sandwiches. Just an all around frustrating experience since this is/was one of our...

My wife and I went in for lunch it is a very touristy vibe sort of a coffee house for people coming through the area it was hit and miss I ordered their club it was excellent she ordered the turkey cranberry sandwich which was a zero maybe if it was hot meat but the meat was cold and slimy and watery just didn't work the salads are good will come back give them another chance. Just have a personal dislike to have to buss my own table like McDonald's that's a personal opinion and not having actual waiters or waitresses and having to order at the counter and pay just kind of killed the whole vibe but that's the way they run it and give them respect for how clean it was except for when we went to buss our table the rack of dirty dishes was overflowing and there was no room to put the plates and had to cram it in kind of question the cleanliness of the whole thing then I'm wondering who's cleaning the table etc. Do wander around there's cool things to buy there's a little cute store in the back and it shares with the nice dress shop next door it's definitely worth a try just be warned on...

This was the first place my girlfriend and I went to on the first day of our Oregon vacation and it was a very cool little cafe. The staff were really nice and helped us with drink recommendations and the food was very good. We both ended up with the Crater Club sandwich and it was very good, I forgot that I wasn't a fan of normal french toast which was the middle slice of the sandwich, but still liked the sandwich. It also comes with maple syrup and just lots of different flavors and a wild combination. I had a smoothie which was also good. There is a little gift shop in the back with an older gentleman running it. He was very kind, you've heard of dad jokes, he is a 'grandpa jokes' type of guy and reminded me of my grandpa a bit, which isn't a bad thing. The only thing I want to mention with that is cash is preferred for the gift shop as their Point of Sale tablets are pretty complicated and he was having a very hard time with them as they must be a pretty new addition to...

First time for me. Probably the last. I just want to sit and have someone bring me coffee and food. I want hot coffee, cold water, and food. This is the kinda place where you stand and order and then clean your own table when you are done. They ask for a tip before you see your food. McDonalds is 6 blocks down the road. I don't go there for the same reason I won't come here again. I know, I'm too fussie and shoulda known better... but there's more. I asked for eggs poached easy and got eggs fried hard. And I agree with everyone who says the hashbrowns are dry. I wish I had just walked out. Not saying it is not a cute, trendy place. Not saying it is not clean. Not saying that I didn't wake up as I ate half my food... Just saying I wish I had read my review before I stopped. I would have rode on by.

I love this little place. Not only are the staff and atmosphere lovely, good music, adorable little shop in the back very PNW vibe, the food (arguably the most important aspect) is tremendous, we have come back multiple times to get the same custom order, 'Biscuits Lassalle', made with their lovely biscuits smothered in tomato soup and tofu crumbles topped with cheddar and lots of pepper, it's a delicious option for veggies and I highly recommend trying it out if you're in the mood for a fun twist on the classic biscuits and gravy!
