I have been coming here since they opened back in 2013. In all of these years, I have never been disappointed with the food or service. From the iconic Mac & Cheese (a'la carte or on the Mac Daddy Paddy Melt), to limited options like the PB&J Burger and Mozz Sticks (pleaseeeee bring them back) to the amazing new brunch menu, I have always found something delicious, unique and filling. They have great gluten-free and vegan options, and it allows so many more fun and unique dining options, and it gives a high-quality dining option for our friends who have some dietary restrictions.
Lately I have made it a point (pun intended) to come for brunch every weekend as their new menu has knocked it out of the park. I cannot praise the Chicken Fried Steak enough, espcially paired with a delicious $2 mugmosa.
The atmosphere and layout are so great and versatile. Whether it is getting to enjoy beautiful weather and bring the puppers out to the cool outdoor patio, to having a birthday dinner in the dining room, or having a drink and watching a game on a TV on the Pub side, the layout has something for everybody. I've even rented out the upstairs banquet space for several corporate events and parties. Their catering options were great for when we couldn't have events onsite and still wanted to be able to enjoy dishes like mac & cheese or onion rings.
The staff throughout the years has always been so great, but the Brunch team seem to work extra hard taking care of the Brunch crowd. Isaac (Issac, I never know which letter has 2 in that name, sorry), Malik, Desiree and April all have helped me when I come I'm for Brunch and I've never needed to wait for anything, even when they are super hopping. The manager Keri obviously does a great job helping to lead such an awesome team, and you can tell by the atmosphere and the attitude of everybody here that they love what they do, and have great leadership at the helm. Becky, one of the owners has done a great job building up her leadership and team.
The Point truly is a special business and unique dining option not just in Southern Oregon, but truly is a cornerstone of Downtown Central Point. If you are looking for a delicious, fun meal in a great place, get on down...
Read moreI have mixed feelings about this place. When we walked in, there were not very many tables availables so we sat at a table that was close to the door, so every time the door was opened, we got a very cold blast of air. I ordered a lemon lavender specialty drink. It was very good. The first one came with sugar on the rim, so each time you took a drink, the sweet sugar infused the drink right in your mouth. My second drink came out with no sugar on the rim. I said to the waitress, "Oh no, you forgot my sugar." She responded that we are out of sugar on your first one. I really had to grind the rim around to get every bit of sugar. I followed up by saying oh I wish you would have told me I may not have had another " She told me she could bring me some sugar packs, and I said no, I just wish you would've told me you were out of sugar. Then she responded by telling me she didn't realize they were out of sugar. I said you were the one who just told me you were the one that got the last bit of sugar when you were grinding my glass around the first time? How could you not know? She wasn't sure how to respond, so she just walked away? My second drink came well after we were finished with our sandwich, which was a patty melt. It was okay, nothing special. Not very many French fries came with it. Anyway we waited and waited for our ticket. The waitress never came back all of a sudden. A gentleman brings our ticket out. He had discounted for the no sugar on the rim. I was explaining to him that there was no reason for the girl to lie. She just should have told me you were out of sugar. The gentleman said well we don't really like to say lie. That's a strong word, and I said okay. She fibbed in the same sentence. What she told me contradicted herself. He liked the word fib better, which, yes, is the same as lying. Anyway, she didn't need to do that. I was okay with the drink. It still tasted good. I will go back again to try it out. But it's disappointing when your server lies you. Because she forgot what she already told you. I will try this place again. If there is a mistake or problem, just fix it. Don't try...

Update after the owner's response: Regarding the atmosphere - I owe you an apology, to say the atmosphere reminded me of a cafeteria was too vague. The decor was great and the symbiosis between the historic building and the modern sports bar looks fantastic. I also need to compliment you on the outdoor patio area. A very inviting, warm, and enjoyable place to enjoy beer and conversation. What I meant by the cafeteria atmosphere was regarding the noise. I think the walls would benefit from more materials that break up or absorb sound. Just one or two conversations going on and it sounds like a packed house in there. Not being an interior decorator myself, I am unable to tell you what would do the job and blend in.
Regarding the cycling drink selection: Understandably , with a revolving menu of beers, I wouldn't expect the staff to know everything about all of them. However, I have seen that exact thing pulled of many times, so it is possible. Granting that might be asking a bit much, asking for a recommendation on a good brown ale on the sweeter side is not asking too much.
Regarding the dessert: I can't recall the exact makeup of what we had, but it was something along the lines of a Cheesecake Enchilada. Yes, those words should never go in the same sentence, but thank you The Point Pub and Grill for flying in the face of convention, because that damn dessert was damn delicious.
Original Review: The food was pretty standard, the atmosphere reminded me of a cafeteria, and when asked questions about beer selection, we were told to just read the menu board. I expect staff to be able to handle basic questions. The dessert was phenomenal. I recommend this place for more of a...
