Went on a Sunday around 5:30 for a party of two and was seated with no wait. We ordered their AYCE Sushi menu for dinner and had their current $1 Sapporo Draft Beer deal.
Let me start with their strongest contenders and what I’d recommend you order - this sushi spot has very strong carpaccio, especially their salmon. The salmon carpaccio was extremely buttery and fatty. Their salmon nigiri was also extremely fresh, so their supplier is trustable. Their seaweed salad is crispy rather than soggy, and can be put in that same category of freshness. The yellowtail yuzu jalapeño is another great hit as the jalapeño helps balance out the fishiness of the yellowtail. The scallops were also well prepared in their sauce and the masago was salty and fresh.
Kitchen wise, Kairi does a really good job with their tempura battering. With both the Shrimp and Mixed Vegetable tempura, the battering is light and not too filling.
In between were their Shrimp, Ocean Trout, and Squid. For a great squid sashimi or nigiri I highly recommend Ginza Sushi in Torrance, but this restaurant also did a decent job. Their Shrimp, both the regular and Jumbo Ebi were okay but weren’t surprisingly fresh or groundbreaking in any way.
Here’s what I wouldn’t recommend: most of their tuna based sushi’s. Their tuna nigiri and seared tuna were both extremely dry rather than smokey in flavor. The same can be said for the seared salmon, but not to the same extent. The chicken karaage was more fried batter and too oily than chicken itself and it felt as if old oil was used. With the Tonkotsu Ramen the broth was watery and the noodles were overcooked making for a fairly poor ramen - understandable though as this place focuses on sushi rather than ramen.
Service wise this restaurant does an amazing job with quick service, attentive servers who were consistent with asking about the food, refilling water and asking for refills on beer.
I’d say it’s definitely one of the more favorable sushi spots I’ve been to! Great job...

I get the "no substitution" as it may cost them more but just to leave out something actually should cost them less. We are in 2025 and I just can't believe people are still so ignorant as to practicing discrimination based on religion. The girl server yesterday needs to be trained as she never came back to confirm if the order requested was fine. Yes, we listed clearly what we wanted excluded from the order as the kids do not eat them like green onion or sesame seeds. Sure enough, all the first few dishes that came had them. My husband was given a hard time with full interrogation whether he is allergic or not to the imitation crab we wanted excluded from the Philly Rolls as they only allow allergies as reason to "substitute". What part of the eliminate do these people do not understand? We did not ask for substitution. No one should be forced to abandon their religious practice to experience different foods if it is possible. Such a very unpleasant experience. Just for the record, we have gone here several times before but the way we were treated this last night just made them lose a patron. Why ask people to write instructions on their order just for you to ignore and let your servers treat people with religious restrictions in a very rude and...
Read moreCame in to check out the AYCE sushi. It’s $36.99 per person. The service staff are very polite, and do a wonderful job of keeping your table clean. The restaurant looks very nice and clean, great atmosphere here.
A few of the Rules for AYCE are: You can only be here to eat for 90 minutes. All food must be consumed in the restaurant, no to-go bags. You will be charged an additional $2 for every piece of sushi you do not consume. Rice is apart of the leftover rule, so you must eat it. Everyone has to get the AYCE or no one gets it. You get the point, no wasting food or taking it home. Anyway, menu is easy to read with a picture of the food item. A lot of options to choose from here. Appetizers like tempura shrimp, seaweed salad, noodles and teriyaki.
Sushi is well prepared and visually appealing, Your rolls will be 4-5 pieces per order. Not like what you see in the posted pictures of 8-10 pieces . Those could be the non AYCE orders? My one beef with the sushi, instead of an excessive amount of rice you may see at other AYCE places, 80% of the roll is filled up of minced “krab” artificial crab meat and avocado or spicy tuna purée, They fill you up fast. Majority of the rolls on the menu consist of krab/ avocado centers which lacks...
