This serves as a cautionary note for individuals engaging in online transactions with INDOLANKA CASH & CARRY (ARTESIA, California) shop. Previously, we procured Sri Lankan goods from this shop, encountering an unfavorable incident with our recent order.

Our purchase included three packets (8 lb) of roasted red rice flour, alongside other items. While all items were delivered, we discovered spilled flour within the package. Upon inspection, we noted that one rice flour packet was damaged, and the seller had haphazardly used sellotape to address the issue before dispatching it to us.

In response to our complaint, the seller proposed a partial refund, expecting us to bear half the cost of the damaged package. Rejecting this, we offered to return the package, requesting the seller cover the postal charges and provide a full refund. However, our request was denied initially.

The following day, the seller agreed to send a FedEx label for the return. But, they sent a refund receipt accompanied by a message stating, "We do not want to spend our good money on bad; do as you wish. You can discard the item” This contradicted their earlier commitment to sending the label and displayed a lack of consideration for our situation.

Our overall experience with INDOLANKA shop was disappointing, marked by poor communication and their refusal to take responsibility for the damaged item (Although they refund the amount after some harsh words over the phone). To add to this, the seller's unwarranted statement about not allowing us to make future online purchases with them reflects their questionable customer service. We {THE FAMILY} has been COMING here for two or three. My Wife is from Sri Lanka. She liked coming here because she found items that came Sri Lanka. but that has changed . She said she will never come here again has long she is alive.. FOR what the owner did to her.to explain.... before the Family went back to Sri Lanka for vacation. My wife wanted to ship three big boxes and my Son in Law three boxes too. The owner said it would arrive around the end of the month. Well it was two month late.My son in law was very mad. called the owner to complained. So when boxes finally arrived in SRI LANKA. THEY TO PICK THEM UP. THE OWNER SENT A E-MAIL TO SHIPPING CLERK. SAYING MY WIFE AND SON IN LAW DID NOT PAY FOR SHIPPING. YES THEY HAD THE RECEIPT. BUT THEY HAD TO PAY AGAIN. MY WIFE CRIED. I have been in the retail business all my live. i have never heard no owner doing to this to a customer just because the complained.So think twice about shopping here. What i wrote here...
