After being super disappointed by the trips we made to every other place that advertised having boba tea, it was such a relief to come to this gem of a restaurant. Their boba tea was made perfectly. It didn't have the gross soapy taste from adding too much bergamot oil like the other restaurants' teas. The atmosphere is calm, welcoming, stylish, and had really cool features to look at while you waited on your order (murals in the outer walls of the alleyway, Mrs. Pacman arcade game, ads for local events posted, even a small replica peeing boy statue that I've actually seen in Brussels years ago). The staff was exceptionally attentive and kind, one even drew a really nifty doodle of a cat face on my daughter's cup. (*She absolutely loved it, and tries to draw it on everything now btw. 😺) They have a great menu selection. Each of the items listed gives the impression that the littlest details of the ingredients were taken into consideration to offer a higher quality of taste and presentation. I'd say that factor alone makes the pricing fair and well worth every penny. I'm really not the type to go out to restaurants without some sort of special or unique appeal that I can't or don't want to prepare myself. This place hit the nail on the head in that category....
Read moreUpdate!- Alex reached out to my husband to better understand what went wrong during our visit and went above and beyond to make things right and assured us he was very eager to improve in any areas he could at the cafe. It’s not very often a business truly cares about the customer or how they can improve in the future. This meant a lot to us and we will come back soon to give it another chance! Thanks, Alex!
Tried this place out today based on how popular it seemed, and the photos made it seem like this was the spot to be! The customer service was severely lacking, and the drinks all tasted incredibly watered down. It took a very long time to get our food and drinks, which I typically wouldn’t mind at all, but then the food order was wrong. When it was brought to the girls attention- she said we made a mistake. My husband showed her that the ordering screen specifically stated what should have been included, and she didn’t seem too excited to make it right for us. I would have loved to leave a better review, but the lack of any smiles or positivity in there and the drinks being pretty bad was super disappointing. The price of everything was also super expensive, especially considering the...
Read moreFirst the good: I enjoyed the breakfast crepe. The crepe itself was good, the egg was perfectly cooked and the ham was flavorful. The bacon was in wont of an actual griddle but passable. The pastries, obviously brought in since there’s no kitchen, were tasty.
Now, the bad. The fly situation is untenable. Completely unacceptable. I almost dropped the rating to two stars because there are SO. MANY. FLIES. I had a hard time eating while swatting away the swarm that arrived with my crepe. (We sat inside.) Seriously, get a fly trap, turn on the AC so you don’t have to leave the doors open, buy some fans... something. Do something.
The coffee: My latte was fine but the drip coffee was pretty bad in my opinion. Guessing it was an extremely dark roast. Tasted almost burnt and didn’t smell like coffee.
I realize this kind of establishment is probably rare for the area. The concept itself is great! The decor, the atmosphere, the adorable outside seating are all great! We come through the area once a year and I sincerely hope this place is still open and thriving (minus the flies) when we come...
