Really really good. Chana masala was delicious. Falafels were also crispy on the outside like I like them. People are really nice. Told me that they are opening a restaurant in Chambersburg, I will be there for sure. Owners, one wish, just one, have some fresh chilies (if we ask) for us who love your food with some heat. Update: Went to the open air market to get some falafel shack. Again no disappointment. This time I had the sample platter with chicken shawarma, yumm. Chicken was tender and a smokey tandoori flavor. It was 94 degrees and there was a line. Most unbelievable this guy must have an idetic memory he remembered my name from a month ago!! TRY THIS GUYS FOOD.
Updated 1.11.19 Visited the physical restaurant at the square. Awesome ambiance, love the artwork, music, and rejuvenation of the old historical square. Guess what UnDone kombucha on tap. I love all the healthy fresh produce made food. Pakoras are amazing, love the addition of kale . Wife had the special, coconut curry chicken, she was very happy. Try the Fatoosh salad and split it into small plates for the family like we did for an appetizer.
Still one wish, a few green chilies (if we ask) for those of us who love the heat.
Amer and family, very nice facility and service. My only gripe, wish your restaurant was a tad closer to where we live, LOL.
Guess what, again, still remembers my name from months ago.
TO ALL try it your palette will be happy you did.
Updated 12.22.19 Amer We had the chicken biryani and the coconut curry chicken (both specials of the day)(photos attached). Both were amazing. I love the amazing flavors but the fried onion garnish was an amazing touch on top of the biryani. I have yet to have a bad special from Amer. Take a look at the small stainless container. I had to ask for it, It has Amer's homemade sambal(hot sauce). It is made from locally grown peppers, it was delicious and flavorful. 8.28.20 Ordered online to pickup takeout. Amer was there and always super courteous. Food amazing as always. Great takeout containers. Easy to order online, easy to pickup, amazing food. The chana was extra tasty tonight. Thank you Amer. 4.18.21 Falafel Shack pizza. Yummy. Wood fired pizza. Need I say more. See the photos. When you get the chance try it. It sells...
Read moreLet it be noted this restuarant is very small and narrow. Decorated very nicely but tight. Ate there on a very busy Saturday night around 7. Called ahead and they dont take reservations. So you wait for a seat when you get there. We happen to be seated in the store front beside the refrigerator which keeps the bottled drinks cold. Not a very appealing spot but they were busy. It was private and it didnt bother me until the front door kept open and closing and all the cold air came in on us. Also there is just glass in the store front which added to the cold. I was freezing by the time I left.
The staff is very nice! The place is clean.
We started with Falafel Shack Hummus. The hummus is delicious and it is comes with a freshly baked pita. Nice appetizer. Main course was a Beef Kafta Platter and a Chicken Shawarma Pizza. Hands down a very very tasty small pizza on a pita. Came out warm and inviting. The beef platter was so so. They were running out of everything on the menu that night. They didnt have the side of Channa Masala ( another chickpeas dish) so they gave us more hummus. This platter comes with a warm pita and rice and the beef is basically a log meatball that is seasoned nicely. You get two. We divided the pita and wrapped each beef in a half of the pita. It was OK.
We ended the evening with a slice of Raspberry Vanilla cake. Tasty but dry. Not made in house.
I have to say by the end of the meal...I was "Carbed Out" Food wasnt bad. Not greasy at all but definitely not for those on a Carb Restricted diet. It would of been greatly appreciated to have some freshly steamed vegetables as a side of a platter, not more chickpeas of any kind. You can always order hummus. Now lets get to the bottom line...the bill. For the amount of food, I thought it was expensive. Will I got back again...maybe but I will have a plan to eat...

It’s been years since I’ve been to a restaurant that even comes close to what Falafel Shack offers.
Falafel Shack continues to be the standard by which I measure all other dining experiences. I’d give them 6 stars if I could.”
Fair warning, eating at the Falafel Shack will ruin all other restaurants for you.
After eating here you will wonder how anything else can compare.
Food from other restaurants will taste like dust in your mouth compared to anything Falafel Shack offers.
You'll spend endless nights trying to recreate the perfection that is dinner at The Falafel Shack but you'll fail.
You'll return weekly to get your fix from a restaurant and food that can only be described as ethereal. As soon as you leave you'll again worry "Will I ever be able think of food normally again?".
If there is a heaven, then they serve Falafel Shack there.
What I really mean to say here is that Falafel Shack is good. In fact Falafel Shack is hands down the best restaurant in Central Pennsylvania and is likely one of the best restaurants in the entire state.
The food is incredible, the staff is friendly and they have a great atmosphere. Frankly they are everything that a restaurant should strive to be.
First timers I'd recommend the Chicken Shawarma Platter or Chicken Shawarma pizza. You cant go wrong with the hummus or the pakoras for appetizers. Check with the wait staff because they likely have an amazing special that is probably worth trying.
Make sure to get dessert because in addition to having the best entrees in the state they also have...
