Pollo Al Carbón — Restaurant in Chamblee

I am Mexican myself and I have to say this place has great food but the service is horrible. I don't know, must have been the waitress that attend us but she looked mean, uninterested in her job or she was having a bad day? She was basically letting us know she wasn't having a good day and I've been their 3 times already, same waitress too. My dad's order was taking a little while to cook and I over heard in the kitchen that they had messed up. At that point my dad didn't want anything. They didn't try to fix the situation at all... which really upset me because I got to eat and he didn't but the one thing that really bothered me from this whole experience was and I really don't know if the owner even knows about this but they seem to let homeless people come in the restaurant and let them ask every customer for money. So I'm enjoying my meal and this random lady in a wheelchair comes up and asks us for money. I deny her and she gets upset and begins swearing at me and calling me names because I couldn't give her a dollar... for whatever reason they allow those people to come in? It's unprofessional and no other restaurants allow this. It really takes away from the experience and I'm probably most likely not to go back. No frills, cheap Mexican chicken place. You order at the front and they bring you the food. Is it a little grimy? Yes. Would i bring a date here? No. Can i come here in a shirt basketball shorts and sandals after the gym? Yes. Based on all this I would come in with that sort of expectations. The food is good and the service is right about what you'd expect. I'm not giving this place 5 stars due to ambiance or service. It's solely a value rating. I'd double check the chicken before you eat into it but i've not had an issue with the chicken in the multiple times i've been here. I've also only ordered the chicken and have not tried any of the other menu option outside of the sides my meal came with (rice and beans). There's also a salsa bar.
