Went through the drive thru for breakfast. ~08:15 06/07/19. The menu that they have outside are large digital displays which look nice... if they worked. The one that I was at only showed half the menu because one of their screens was not working. The screen that was working only displayed for 2 seconds and then went black for anywhere between 4-10 seconds.
Picked a meal with a sandwich, coffee, and hashbrown.
Paid for the meal and moved on to pickup my order. Woman at the window handed me a bag and then looked towards the back of the kitchen looking for something. She then told me to pull forward to their holding spot #1 and they would bring out my coffee.
I'm listening to music while I wait. A song goes by while I nibble at the hashbrown. Another song starts so I pull out my bagel sandwich and start eating. That song ends and I am done with my sandwich. Another song starts and ends.
Still no coffee. Now that I'm done eating I can pay attention to looking back in the side mirror for the employee who should be bringing out my coffee. Maybe they are brewing a new pot and just ran out?
I watch them hand out drinks and foods to cars and trucks, looking for clues. Lots of large iced tea cups going out. Makes sense.
Then I start seeing coffee cups being handed out. That means they must be pouring mine and someone will come out soon.
1 truck goes by with coffee. No employee with coffee.
A guy walks out the front door, past my waiting car, with a coffee in his hand. No employee with coffee.
An older lady walks out (who I remember stopped to fix her hair in the reflection of the entry door glass) with a coffee cup in her hand. Still no employee with coffee.
I've had enough. Nobody is bringing out the coffee. They've forgotten me so I turn off my car, turn on the hazard lights, and head inside to investigate.
At the front counter there are two girls working. One is chatting with a male co-worker at the register, the other is calling out an order and avoiding eye contact with me. She ignores me and turns around so I go after the girl at the register.
"I've been waiting for 10-15 minutes for my coffee out in spot #1. Could I please get my medium coffee?"
"Oh I'm just in lobby, I don't know anything about drive thru"
I said that "Ok, well I'm still waiting on my coffee."
She poured a cup of coffee from the pot right behind her and I walked out. I assumed she apologized but I don't think she actually did.
All in all, avoid the McDonalds on Kirby and Neil. Maybe it's the new franchise owners changing things up a little. Maybe it's negligence on the part of an employee. Does it really matter? As a customer I shouldn't have to think about...
Read moreHorrible experience all around. You wait for an hour while being totally ignored while staff just stands back there chatting and talking and doing nothing. Then they’ll try and tell you that they’re closed or can’t take orders. Or if you order in the app they’ll ignore you for an hour before they tell you that they don’t have any orders and there’s nothing they can do and they’re extremely rude about it too as if they’re angry you came there to eat. With the food being payed for already to McDonald’s you’d think they could at least make it but nope!!! So every time I come here I waist about an hour of time and leave empty handed. The only time this McDonald’s seems to operate normally is when Luis is there or the other Hispanic manager with the tattoos. When he’s there everything is on point but I never see him in there anymore. So come here if you have at least and hour to spare and don’t mind being refused service every time while the employees don’t really do anything. It’s amazing the difference in quality of service you receive between places like this and places like Chick-fil-A. I understand it’s McDonald’s but even they should have some kind of standards or at least management. So like I said if you don’t mind being treated poorly, have an hour of your life to waist and don’t want any food to eat this is the perfect place for you. It really sucks they’re paying employees to do nothing and refuse services every day the owner / operator of this franchise must not be very involved or not care which would explain a lot.Place is super ratchet, people are lazy af, place isn’t clean or sanitary don’t waist your time. Dwight Miller where are you at? You’re losing money everyday and paying people to screw you over you need to get your stores...
Read moreFor the love of all that is holy, please raze this place and construct something else here. How on earth did the city government allow this to exist adjacent to a university that's possibly as well known all over the planet as, oh I don't know, Michael Jackson? I placed a mobile order that I had to wait near 40 minutes to receive. The wait would have spanned over 40 days instead if it weren't for my phone call that I placed while sitting in my car curbside. Guess what I was told over the phone? This is some good s-it that you don't want to miss! I was told that they didn't get my order :D Then a voice in the background was heard through my speaker "OOOOO YEH, THAT ORDER!!!!". No apology, and most definitely, not a single makeup apple pie was offered. My order magically materialized right after the phonecall ended, but the struggle still continued...The lady who was to leg the order to me wasn't trained in telling where and what she was doing at any given point in the time-space continuum. She walked all over the lot only to miss where the Mcdonalds Mobile Order Curbside pickup area was, and handed my stuff to a car that just parked 4 spaces away. Yet the struggle carried on! The empty parking lot confused her to the point where she wasn't sure anymore as to which non-existent car to deliver the order. Finally, I heard the stars align, and she realized through the process of elimination, albeit between the only two cars parked in the lot, rather than reading the signs that she was supposed to possibly, probably, perhaps deliver the order to me. Thus concludeth the story of my absolutely last ever visit to Mcdonalds, since this is the only one near my regular route. Did I freaking mention the ice...
