I catered from this restaurant for my son's grad party. Here is my frank and honest review for my catering experience. Service: the young and smart lady who runs the place and catering was totally awesome. I had gone to her restaurant with the full idea of just getting a quote to eliminate. However I was very impressed by the genuine interest she took in asking us about our vision and then also immediately getting us samples to taste. My husband wanted mocktails and while she was honest she hadn't done those before she got the basic idea and then implemented it beautifully. Shr also suggested items that will work for the crowd and took the trouble to explain why, and provided food samples to back her suggestion, something my son appreciated very much. The menu she helped us plan was sumptuous and for a very reasonable price. We asked her if she had any contacts for live entertainment and she coordinated with dj megdeep from LA, arranged for him to travel over to phoenix found decently priced tickets and made sure it works out for us. Megdeep made the evening for everybody and that itself needs a standalone review. The lady also arranged for dedicated grad decoration at the venue and I have to say that was such a blessing. She felt like family and not a caterer. Her enthusiasm and willingness to go extra miles (note not mile but miles) made the grad party easy, efficient and a success for us. Because of her help with food, entertainment and decor the whole process was super easy. The food presentation was classy, she had good quality steel serving items. The desserts, and mocktails were served in good quality individual glasses and bowls and looked really nice in pictures. Her mocktails were a hit since she let her creativity really play out here. As a person who loves cooking she made sure food was tasty, good looking and fun. Food: the food tastes good, is fresh and is of good quality. She didn't (in catering) and doesn't ( in her restaurant) palm off old food. Everything is well made and has a level of creativity. The menus straddle a good measure between traditional Indian and modern fusion. I have to say she gave us idea to add khubani ka meetha and actually made a sample herself for us to try. Her enthusiasm and happiness is very Infectious. The several pounds I gained on her shahi-toast-to-die-for will stand testimonial to food quality. Her pani puri stand was great as was rest of the food (biryani, pulao, paneer, naan) etc. All this and more is for a very reasonable and affordable price. She adds more value to the event than...
Read moreBeing a regular customer to curry bowl from last one year I have decided to visit again to enjoy their food last night. We have ordered Mysore Bonda (My fav @Curry Bowl) and Chettinad Chicken. Mysore bonda was excellent as always, but we felt like chicken in our Chettinad curry was undercooked .We thought it would be helpful to the restaurant if we let them know about undercooked meat . So, we let the guy who took our order about the undercooked meat and requested to replace it. Everything was fine till that point. After few minutes a lady came to us and enquired about the problem and we explained it to her. She started saying "Chicken is already well cooked and we cant cook more than that.Chicken will be the same even if you order some other dish". I was surprised by her reply and asked her to replace with some other curry just to avoid an argument. Our chicken roast came after few minutes and it as not that great but better than previous one we got. .I would like to make a request to currybowl. We all foodies come to your place to enjoy your food and we don't get fun in complaining about it.Please listen to the customer and see if you can do about his request about food. I honestly felt that the situation could have been handled in a better way. For a that reason I am taking 2 stars out of 5 :)
Pros: 1)Excellent Buffet with good South Indian Choices. 2)Decent Ambience. 3)Affordable Prices.
Things to Improve: 1)Dine-In customers can listen Chefs loud conversations from kitchen. This is spoiling Dine-In experience.Better music can fix this issue. 2)Customer service (as per my above situation) can be improved.
We all have one of those long days at work. So, I would still recommend this place and will visit...
Read moreI would give zero stars if I could! Not only did they mess up my order but then when I called back in they tried to tell me it’s my fault! The worst customer service i have had in a long time. I simply ordered palak panner and tikka masala and took it home for me and the wife. When I got home it was very spicy. I eat a lot of Indian food and normally this food is not spicy but you will often be asked a spice level. Since no one asked me I assumed it would be normal levels spicy which is to say lightly. When I called in to tell them it was too spicy and I was not happy with it I was told that I was wrong. I was told if I wanted it not spicy I should have asked and when told about other places taking 5 seconds to ask the customers heat preference and avoid this issue I was told they have had no complaints and as the customer it’s my responsibility to tell them. As if I the customer know how spicy they normally make it.
The nerve of these people. The food tasted bad anyway so it wasn’t even worth the heat, I’ve gotten better Indian food from a microwaveable frozen meal. I have a pretty high spicy tolerance and often eat jalapeños and my wife is Hispanic and it was too spicy for her. The worst part is if you have a problem they won’t stand behind their food and will actually yell at you (yes he raised his voice and yelled at me, the customer) and tell you, the customer, are wrong.
This place is the worst, I would rather burn my money than give them a dime and you should...
