Lallos Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Channahon

I will admit the I am no food connoisseur but let's get right to the details. I will list some Pros/Cons for a better idea and without using walls of text! My Fiancee and I purchased two lunch specials from the Mexican food category.

-Service Summary-

Pros: Cheap Pricing (Lunch Specials)

Cons: Stood at front door for about 5 minutes until instructed to sit where we'd like Around a 10 minute wait before waitress noticed us to take orders About 30 minutes before food was brought to table Waitress could not really define her favorite dish for a potential future visit.(Keep this in mind)

-Food Summary-

Pros: Generous Portions

Cons: Refried Beans had the color/consistency of instant oatmeal (Dripping off spoon like water) Cheddar cheese used in burrito rather than a subtle cheese that compliments Meat tasted as if it had been sitting for some time Spanish rice tasted of tomatoes with little spice reinforcement

Environment Summary:

The target market for this business can be immediately decided based on a bar that takes about about 2/3 of the building space due to the customer area being similar to an 'L". We were seated in the area further from the bar, it has a very tight feeling, especially at tables for two.

To Conclude:

While I'm always up for another go, I don't have much confidence in this business's ability to earn more than 2 stars. I mentioned the watery/light colored refried beans to the waitress and she did NOT seem surprised... Almost expecting people to voice concern about the dishes. She hypothesized that it may have been the 'bottom of the batch' which concerned me on premise that when ordering food, most business cook per order rather than create huge quantities and allow customers to deal with the aging. I then asked her what often sells most, I was just read the menu again. To be more decisive, I asked what her favorite dish is, she took a moment to really think (also worrying).

We have been to this establishment many times and had great service until now. We arrived sat down the waitress threw menus on table said I will be back, we waited and waited. We have patience and seen it busy however when tables are sat after us and receive drinks and we have not seen anyone, that is puzzling. We ordered, received our drinks minus straws.. however, seen the same waitress serving drinks and straws to other tables around us. Brought the food, order was not even correct... no silverware. Had to ask for it, received with an attitude...Asked for bill and to go containers... waited 10 minutes and had to go to the bar and ask for bill and to go containers... If you did not want to wait on us should have switched with another waitress.. we understand bad days however when we see same waitress pleasant with others and not us... puzzling... all we did was sit down at a table and were looking to...

Really disappointing experience all the way around. From the very beginning we waited quite a few minutes when they weren't busy to be approached. The drinks were mostly ice- to the degree of being undrinkable. We ordered a cheese quesadilla meal and chille relleno meal and both we flooded in cheese and super greasy. The Diablo sauce was a funny orange color and it wasn't hot either. The sides weres cold. When asked how our experience was- we were honest about it being a poor experience and from there on we were treated poorly too. The manager Miranda was very rude when we tried to discuss our experience. Even said we were trying to "get everything for free" while she argued with us raising her voice in a disrespectful tone.
