We had a New Years Eve Party to go to, but my husband told me to wear something nice cause we're going out for dinner. Bourbon Boulevard was perfect! I did not know this was over by the Dulles Expo Center. It was a great experience.

I recommend doing a reservation through OpenTable. He did so and we were promptly seated. There was a jazz band there, playing classics that I knew. The singer had that black and white movie jazz voice and she rocked it. The atmosphere was so smooth, friendly, welcoming. The music wasn't too loud. You could hear your conversation even with the crowd. With dimmed lights, you're still able to see. The staff was remarkably welcoming, courteous, and well-spoken. I believe our server was Tony. Very friendly and handy!

We started off with Steak Tartare, Smoked Old Fashioned, and Duckfat Sazerac. The steak tartare was tender and very spreadable. There was no problem covering an entire toast. The flavor was slightly smoky. I recommend.

For our entree we both had Wagyu Coulotte (this cut is also known as Picanha), Maple Sriracha Brussel Sprouts, and Mushroom Rissotto. The chef and kitchen staff have wonderful taste buds. The flavor was amazing. No steak sauce needed. I would beat you with a rusty spoon if you got steak sauce. The seasoning was perfect on the coulotte. It was not over-salted. It was not under-seasoned. It was a beautiful seared, medium-rare, delightful vacation for my palate. The brussel sprouts lacked the heavy bitterness and enveloped the sweetness and spice of the maple syrup and Sriracha. They were not overcooked and had a nice al dente tenderness. The risotto was amazingly packed with flavor. It wasn't that opened canned of mushroom soup-ish risotto. Someone took care and loved making this risotto. It was creamy and hot. This is what I imagine the comfort food for the rich must be like. Our dessert was a shared Rum Bread Pudding with Ice Cream. I'm adding this to the rich people's comfort food category. It was warm, with melty ice cream, and tasted like that time you saw a new entertainer that dethroned the previous entertainer you were the #1 fan of for that time period. This was bliss in the shape of a thick slice of Rum Bread Pudding with Ice Cream.

In conclusion, I recommend Bourbon Boulevard. It's a true hidden steakhouse gem. If you are trying to be the final boss of Cheapness ... DO NOT come here. It's expensive. Mothy wallets need not walk through those doors. It's worth every dollar, too.

Pros: FLAVOR!!! A variety of Cocktails (and the fact that they used Licor 43) Great Wait and Kitchen staff Lots of Parking They have an assortment of Seafood The jazz band

Cons: Price (Only if you're Penny McCheapster) The chairs are tight. (I loved armed chairs, but I'm also plus size. While I wasn't spilling out of my seat, my legs were trapped. I ended up having to sit on the edge of my seat.) A little tough for ADA (I have mobility issues. Plus we were seated on one side. I didn't see the other side. However, the width between tables and some corners would be a squeeze for wheelchairs.)

Overall: I can't recommend it enough. It was such a great experience at such a last minute notice. I really knew nothing about them. I didn't even know there were restaurants, other than Willards, over by the...

OVERPRICED, OVERPRICED, OVERPRICED!!!! Food is "ok", but way over priced for what you get and I am not just referring to the steaks. The wine and alcohol is way over priced as well. A 6oz pour of wine will run you at least $12-18, with a 9oz running a minimum of $19-20. You can do better wines and pours at another steakhouse. 2 salads, 2 glasses of wine, and a bread service (that you have to request and I suspect won't be free for much longer) - you won't get out of there for less than $120!! Worst of all is the service. There comes a time when attentiveness goes way overboard and is just as bad as being left alone and forgotten about. Neither are good. This place clearly has their server staff trained to hassle you constantly about getting more to drink and eat. Every 3-5 minutes they are bothering you with, "Is everything ok, can I get you something?". I cringe at the thought of when they will next come around after they just visited. This is AFTER you have waited 40-50 minutes for a salad. They are slow to bring your food, and quick to constantly badger you about ordering more. The owner goes around to most of the tables doing the same thing! He clearly is cheap based upon his pricing and the way he runs his business. You can do much better going to a DC Prime, Flemings, Eddie V's, Capitol Grille, etc! The only thing worth going to this place for is their live jazz music every once in a while. If you do so, make sure you eat BEFOREHAND and have some of your wine and whiskey BEFORE you get there. It's only a matter of time before people wake up and this restaurant will be out of business because it gives so little and charges so much. Oh, and did I say it was overpriced?!

UPDATE:

Exhibit A for would-be customers: The owner's response says it all - Instead of either A) not responding to a customer review or B) responding and simply saying that he is sorry that the customer had a poor experience, he instead decides to insult and berate them by telling them "you can get cheaper wines at Walmart", that he essentially doesn't want them to visit his establishment, and that they should "stay at home and listen to music on app and cook at home", all with poorly written grammar. This is no way to treat your customers or operate a business.

To the owner - even if your math was correct (which it isn't), your prices are still overpriced. Additionally, we weren't there for 3 hours either (more like 1 1/2 hours- 40 minutes of which was waiting for the original order). I didn't even mention the highway robbery "kitchen service charge" of 5% you gouge everyone with. Yes, I know a lot of restaurant names, because I am a foodie and eat out a bit. I have actually been to those restaurants (as well as others) and would go to them again in a heartbeat to drop 3-5X as much before your establishment for a...

  • This is my second time here. Unfortunately, Google won't let you write two reviews for the same spot, so, I'm using my other account. *

If you are looking for a great upscale place for food and drinks, with a chill atmosphere, Bourbon Boulevard is for you. Don't come here if you keep asking about prices, or open your wallet to little moths flying out. If you're trying to be Rex McGroupon, or the DisCount of Monte Cristo, don't come here. It's expensive af and you will enjoy every single morsel.

Tonight was the hubby's birthday and I wanted somewhere special. Bourboun Boulevard is that somewhere special. It's a manly place with beef, hard liquors, and the works. I love it! The jazz band lulls you in as you're seated. The lounge area looks just as comfortable as the main dining. I love the dimly lit room, as if it is our own little secret.

But before I get to what we ordered, I need you to understand Bourbon Boulevard for what it is to me. I love food, not as a glutton, but as a foodie. I love the smell, the textures, the flavors. I savor each bite and experience my meal. Whoever owns and works at this restaurant, is in love with food. I mean, they really love food in every aspect and essence that food can be loved. This is not a restaurant where someone just cooks good. The food here is a love story, between someone who puts their enjoyment of sharing good food with the ability to create culinary masterpieces. This restaurant is what I can only imagine how Belle felt during the "Be Our Guest" scene of Beauty and the Beast. The food and service here are tremendous!

We decided to go with a variety of small plates: (Round 1) Steak Tartare, Grande Baby Back Ribs, and Fig, Prosciutto and Goat Cheese Salad. (Round 2) Foie Gras, Seared Scallops, and Tandoori Tiger Prawns. (Round 3) Russian Osetra and Raw Oysters. Dessert was the Bread Pudding. Our drinks were an Smoked Old Fashioned and Smoked Mezcal Negroni, along with a glass each of Riesling with Round 3.

PROS: The Food The Service The Atmosphere Reservations The Jazz Band

CONS: (only if you're Cheap O. Pennypincher) The Price The Parking being right next to a Chick-fil-a with a drive thru. There was a school bus blocking the entrance/exit and it made it difficult for vehicles trying to leave.

OVERALL: I recommend this place for those who savor life in general. This isn't food for a buffet-runner or speed eating contestants trying to do a quick meal. This is leisurely eating that can generate great conversation and explore flavors. This is where you take high-end deal clients, your wonderful spouse of years, or friends who don't ask "who's all gonna be there". Bourbon Boulevard is a celebration in itself, because just being alive to devour the world is a triumph. Go and enjoy...

Wow! This is a top notch steakhouse known for their aged steaks and wide selection of bourbons, wines and spirits. My husband and I shared the calamari (best I've had anywhere) and the wedge salad (same comment). We then both had the filet mignon with (out of this world) bordelaise sauce, garlic mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. He had a pinot noir and I had a cabernet to balance it out. The service was helpful and friendly and as if all that wasn't enough, a jazz band began playing promptly at 6 pm. Not just any jazz band. I have to get their name because they were exceptionally good and really added to the overall ambiance. This was a night to remember and we will make the drive again from Alexandria to Chantilly because this place is worth it!
