Adding to my review since the owner did comment below: I’d really like the employees input on whether you help out when they are slammed. also go visit a New York or New Jersey bagel shop and see how they are setup. Again, most of them do 3x your volume and still have customers in and out in 5 minutes. You have the slowest service on James Island, as stated by so many of your one star reviews. Also, you reply to so many people saying certain employees had to go or you were shorthanded that day, maybe this is because you bark at them and don’t offer help. This place is gross inside. Service sucks because the kitchen is so poorly setup and understaffed—I feel bad for the employees. And their online ordering system auto sets the location despite their website having an ordering button for each location, so beware your order may be sent to their other location—waited 1-hour for a bagel and had to pay twice. Staff admitted this happens all the time. I’ve seen the lazy owner sit there when the place is getting slammed with orders and drink his coffee rather than help his staff. My family lot owns 3 bagel shops on the jersey shore that probably do 3x the volume of this place on any summer morning, but then again we have a property setup kitchen and an abundance of staff. I also think we charge less for our sandwiches. Hope the owner reads this but I doubt he’ll invest any money into improving this place. Majority of my friends have also said they are done going...

My husband and I are visiting from Virginia. We were searching for option #2 to grab brunch since option #1 had an hour wait time. Luckily, we stumbled upon Bagel Nation. It’s located in a small strip mall right off of Folly Road. This is your casual dining bagel shop. The décor is very simplistic. Customers order at the counter, with self-serve coffee and seating. The stream of customers were steady. You can tell there are many regulars. The staff was friendly. Prices were reasonable.

When we started looking at what to order the menu blew our minds. There were so many breakfast and lunch choices, it took us about 10 minutes to order. I ordered the Turkey BLT on an everything bagel. The sandwich came with a choice of side. I selected the pasta salad, which Bagel Nation makes fresh daily. The helping of turkey and bacon on the sandwich was very generous. My sandwich was very good and filling.

My husband started off with a cup of their chocolate raspberry coffee, which he raved as delicious. He had several refills during our meal. My husband ordered the western omelet stuffed with hash browns. The omelet came with toast or a bagel, and a choice of side. He selected the everything bagel, and his favorite breakfast item, a pancake, as his side. His omelet was huge and flavorful; he was only able to finish half. Had the worst experience ever. Older lady who took my order today, 3/23/2024, was extremely rude. She's definitely the bad apple of your crew. After taking my order, she made me feel uncomfortable and then went to the back to make my food while eating. There was another young girl standing next to her, watching me, so I'm pretty sure something was done to my food. My husband and I just walked out. I'll be back for a refund after she leaves because she was scaring my 8-year-old with her hateful looks and stares. Can't believe you're still open with service like this. I'm a local and in town showing my family a good time for our Saturday vacation and the mood your company just put my family in is awful!!!!!

Respond to Andrew: it most definitely just happened and I saw not one male working. One younger white girl, older lady (extremely rude and eating while preparing food after handling cash) and a younger girl working next to older lady taking orders. If you’re sitting in your office watch your surveillance if you have it I’d say we were in around maybe 9:30 am.
