I eat here fairly frequently. Normally, this place is awesome. Lately, the service has been shockingly horrible. I mean laughably horrible. I brought a guest from out of town for lunch. Picture this: we walk into a completely empty Baguette Magic a solid hour before closing. No employees in sight. We wait around looking at the menus for ~3min before any staff makes an appearance. Even once the 2 staff members come out from the back room, we were not greeted for a solid 5 minutes. I'm honestly not sure why I even bothered to stick around up until this point. We order two sandwiches and an almond croissant. The croissant was the reason I wanted to show my friend this restaurant. We place our order and waited 15 minutes. For cold sandwiches? While we waited, one person, who came in after us, was served. Then (the part that REALLY gets me) a couple comes in and orders the remaining almond croissants, which is fine because they set aside a croissant for my friend and I, right? WRONG. Despite the fact that we had already paid for our croissant, they sold the remaining batch. Upon questioning the lady behind the counter, we found that our sandwiches had been ready for quite some time, but the employees just didn't feel it was necessary to let us know. What!? Additionally, the employee tried to tell us that we never paid for the croissant. Fortunately, we had our receipt and were able to prove that we had. Because all of the almond croissants had been given away AFTER WE PAID, she offered us a croissant that was $1 cheaper (it's the principle of the thing). This was the worst customer service I've ever experienced here. There has been a significant downward trend in overall experience at this restaurant, which is extremely disappointing. Get it together. The food is too good to be this awful. The owner...
Read moreSuch a nice looking place. So much potential. But the good stops there.
Staff smiled and took our order at the standup register. After discussion and clearly stated selection they rang in the wrong item. My “favorite” (sarcasm emphasized) is when they unabashedly watch the “guilt tip” screen. Don’t you just love the concept of tipping at a register, not for service, because that’s nonexistent. Simply a staff compensation entitlement. Nothing but a social pressure surcharge to enhance profitability. Then the audacity to pre-load buttons for 20, 22 and 25%. As if ordering at a counter and being asked to clear your own table deserves a 25% surcharge!
At the table we were provided with the wrong entree. When we said it was the wrong item the staff person looked at us like, “What should I do?” Finally they asked “Would you like me to get you the correct item?” Seemed like a brilliant idea. When the correct item finally came it was rather awful. Scrambled eggs and arugula slathered in some mayonnaise/dijon goo on a baguette, it was something to simply leave behind.
Perhaps the best part of the experience after being greeted with the tip-begging screen were the signs on each of the tables:
“ BAKING MAGIC BAKERY & CAFE Please help our team by clearing your table to the bin located to the left of the l back counter. Thank You!”
Management, you have some real opportunities for improvement. Great location, easy parking, nice inside. Time for training, rethinking the tipping scheme, and helping your chef plan better menu.
Oh, and you might want to rethink charging three and a half dollars plus tax and tip for a...

Overall, great experience! 🥖I got a baguette with bacon, egg, white cheddar and garlic. Which garlic makes everything amazing! Food was yummy, I’d love to go back and try some pastry’s- 8/10
☕️My coffee was a Vietnamese coldbrew which means it was like instant coffee, cold foam on top of cold brew. So lots of caffeine there. I also got caramel flavoring in the coffee. It had a bit of a weird aftertaste, but it definitely was strong coffee, which I do appreciate a good cup of strong coffee. If you’ve ever had instant coffee, the flavor of the foam was comparable to that. Which is not my favorite taste. It was iced obviously because of the cold brew. I probably would never get that coffee drink again, but it was good. It just was a lot. Overall I’d rate the coffee- 5/10
🕍Restaurant experience: it seems like a good place to go with a group of people, there was a lot of seating options. Since it was a Church, that was obviously refurbished, I thought they would be really playing off the church aesthetic- and have the glass windows or something that kind of played tribute to that. But it just looked like a normal restaurant inside. I felt like it could’ve been way more aesthetic so overall, i was not really impressed with the inside. It was nice that they had lots of tables. Vibe was average- 6/10
