The longest wait for "fast" food I have EVER experienced. Ordered on mobile app well ahead of time. Then we arrive only to be faced with terrible customer service: just a whole bunch of young folks (at least 8 or 9 total) standing around behind the counter, using their phones, chatting with each other, not looking up or addressing you as a customer as you stand there and wait. Half an hour later, with a few of the waiting customers still hovering around the pick-up counter area, an older adult female "manager" finally asked if we "needed help" on her way out of the building and found out we're all "waitin' on biscuits". There were maybe a total of 3 older females "managers" present seemingly doing less than nothing somehow. At least 4 customers waiting on paid food for about an hour, with one guy who was already there before us eating some of his food and then leaving without the rest of his meal out of utter frustration, along with 2 cars in the drive-thru, all pondering our poor life choice to visit this "restaurant". You can't serve 6 ppl?! How are you running a fast food franchise? None of the up-front heated food areas were in use, like they've been closed for a few hours but it was in fact a weekday afternoon!
One bad day certainly can happen, maybe malfunctioning equipment even. Then communicate that issue with the paying customers. Clearly that wasn't the case here. The employees must be protesting as a group with exacting manipulation on the owner and planning on closing down permanently soon I'd imagine. That's the only understandable reason for what seems like a perpetual problem per all the recent similar reviews. Hardly an apology, no customer compensation. Just utter disorganization and inefficiency. If I didn't know better I'd have thought we all might be on Candid Camera or What Would You Do? Some kind of social media experiment. It was insane. Hilariously so.
Love the food. Love other BoJ locations. Will never ever again visit this one! Ironically enough, next door is one of the busiest, efficient-as-usual Chick-Fil-As with similarly aged employees. We went there for our next...
Read moreI was in your store at 740 Folly Road, Charleston, SC 29412 on Saturday July 30th. After a long day of moving my family decided we’d get a bite to eat. Upon entry to restaurant at 6:30 p.m. we noticed the temperature in the restaurant was really warm which we thought we could tolerate which is maybe the reason the store was devoid of customers. After ordering we noticed a drip from the ceiling due to the A/C and some issue with it. There was unfolded cardboard boxes unfolded and haphazardly thrown out and about on the floor unsecured creating a awful tripping hazard for the customers to maneuver at their risk. My wife herself tripped twice. After trying to fill our cups with ice we told there was no ice, our visit was quickly quickly going downhill. Several more people came in behind us and were told the same until a couple came in and asked the employees to get him and his wife some ice from the drive thru. So the customers previous to these requested some of the same ice, take note, we had to ask, we were not offered. We also told they were out of Tea, which by the way was advertised on the sign which we would have been afraid to drink anyway because of the temperature in the dining room. We decided to just get it and go. The 10 or twelve that had come through behind us had their food and they were gone or sitting down eating and we, the first 4 adults and 2 kids in during this time, were still waiting. Finally our order was filled and packaged to go, we get back in to an empty apartment and we start unpacking the food and we have no condiments. The food was good, I will say that except for my Roasted Chicken Nuggets but several others said they had that before and it was nothing to write home about. In the middle of this several customers came in and decided to leave upon hearing the talk amongst the customers and help.
Needless to say I don’t know if I’ll ever darken the door of a Bojangles again.
I wish i could rate...
Read moreAfter many visits over the years I have found the food to be decent. The inside of the building is usually cleaned to passing with trash and food residue left on tables at times, nothing major, soda machine and ice is clean, floor usually kept swept, bathroom messy at times but not foul and service area free of bugs and old food detritus. I have experienced a few times of lacking product over the years. No steak (multiple times), no chicken (bone in or boneless) {once} and no Mountain Dew (multiple). Biggest issue that has been continuous is the slow service and sometimes quite rude staff. Multiple occasions of overheard complaining staff about customers and how they won’t feed themselves or how busy they are even with less than 10 customers in building and drive through. Short changing on cash has been an issue, with excuses of lack of change or how busy they are. Service time is usually above the 10 minute range with waiting at the speaker or counter register just to put in the order taking 4-5 minutes. My last visit had me waiting for awhile at speaker, asking for my complete change, being asked what my change was supposed to be and then only given half of that total citing again how busy they were (I was one of three cars in drive through, with the other two in front of me waiting on food, couldn’t say how many where at speaker and beyond because it’s not able to be seen from window) One of the issues infrequently is easily dismissible, as short on staff, lack of hard currency and supply issues have been a thing for the entire fast food/quick service industry, but continual and often multiple issues when visiting this establishment has given me a poor view on this location. My only reason for continuing an occasional visit every couple months is my want of a good country ham biscuit, which the...
