OMG!!! My OFFICIAL breakfast spot whenever I'm near folly beach (or even 25 miles out)...they have a customer for life in me. I ordered shrimp and grits with raisin bread French toast with powdered sugar!! I'm hungry just writing about it. Ma had eggs and bacon with regular French toast and sis the same. Our waitress was a true darling and the rest of the staff was quite helpful 😊 Adhering to social distancing rules they have tables blocked off and that made me feel safe to eat; which is saying alot because im a HUGE germaphobe!! The place was clean and I observed them continually wiping down surfaces and menus. When we went to pay at the register I discovered a blondie...what what what...I am sooooooooo sorry that I didnt get 2 to take back home with me. I decided to go back the next day as we were leaving to go back home in NC...uh uh...honey their CLOSED on MONDAYS (so get your goodies the day before because Tuesday will seem like an eternity). DEFINITELY DEFINITELY DEFINITELY RECOMMEND checking out this spot whether staying in the area or driving through. Do your wallet, your appetite and your snack craving and stop on by😊😊

Pretty overrated. I went in after reading the reviews expecting something good if not great, but the food was...underwhelming, mediocre. It was on the par of Alex's in Summerville or Goose Creek rather than some hole in the wall treasure as most claimed. Food came quickly, though service was not great - they filled up quickly and had more demand than servers. Toast was DRY, bland, eggs...tasteless? Potatoes decent, but serving was small for price. Country fried steak was good, but mostly for the gravy, which was the one good thing for sure. Ordered French toast too after seeing the pictures, but it was painfully run of the mill. I could make better at home. :/ I feel like some of their more adventurous choices are probably more satisfying and baked goods looked tasty, but not worth the price after such an expensive and mostly unsatisfying meal. I wish I could say something more positive. Enjoyed the sweet tea!

I love this mom and pop breakfast place. I think it’s family owned. Staff is very friendly and all work together, so you never have to wait for one specific server they are all very attentive. It gets busy in there, which is a good sign, but unlike places like Flying Biscuit, Bear E. Patch consistently provides speedy and kindly service, regardless of how many people are in the building. The food is great too! Warms the soul - good old fashioned southern cookin’! To hell with Metro Diner or IHOP, this place blows them out of the water, and for very reasonable pricing! One of West Ashley’s gems.💎 Today I ordered the potato pancake black (sub bacon), the potatoes are nice and crispy - great recommendation by the waitress. I can’t wait to try one of their blue crab omelettes or their seafood skillet. This menu has so many great options - and the daily specials board goes across the whole wall!!!

I used to love this place for lunch since I have worked in the area for the past 5 years and like to frequent local places. I would say although the food is still good, I have to take off 2 stars for service. After a couple experiences where I ate in house and had issues with service being slow and the checks being wrong even after we tried to explain it, I stopped going as much. They used to allow you to call in a to go order but on occasion they would tell me they were too busy, however it didn’t seem to be a hard and fast rule. Today when I tried to call in an order I was told they don’t take to go orders anymore but that I could come in after 3 pm if I didn’t want to wait. What 9-5 office has lunch breaks at 3?

I decided to chance it, but the FOH staff member operating the register today 3/27 at lunch was just rude. If you are trying to apologize to a patron for the wait time, maybe try being genuine and friendly rather than saying something sarcastic like “well sorry we are so busy at lunch time — you can always come back after 3 to order.” Tone of voice speaks volumes. I ordered anyway and was told it would be a 25-30 minute wait for 2 sandwich orders and to stay in the building if I wanted to hear them call my order. Since the seating area was crowded with 10 + people waiting for tables, I decided to just wait outside until it cleared. I came back in after 10 minutes and my order was ready which I was pleased with. But the same FOH person said “I’ve been calling you for 5 minutes.” Again, not the right attitude to have with your customers. If you give me a 25 minute wait time and I come back in 10 minutes and my order is ready, that’s great — but you just ruined it by then making a snarky comment. Not cool. I think today sealed the deal for me — I will not be back to this place or recommend it to my friends. Which is a shame because their food is good. But I can’t tolerate bad...

Might actually be the worst breakfast I've ever had. I was really looking forward to eating there but will never go back. The place is lit up like a space station with awful florescent lighting and zero ambiance which I thought the food MUST be fantastic right??? I was going to get an omelet but when I asked if they had avocado I could add, the server responded with "We don't carry anything that could go bad, like fresh fruit or avocado", which should have been my cue to leave without ordering, my bad. Instead, I got the 2 egg breakfast sunny side up with a biscuit and added bacon, the most basic breakfast items poisible. The potatoes were cold, dry and had zero seasoning or flavor, the bacon was paper thin and crumbled when i went to pick it up, so I have no idea how it tasted and the gravy that i added to my biscuit was the consistency of pudding. The person i was with ordered the Greek omelet which was basically a ton of translucent diced tomatoes wrapped in a giant crepe, the egg was just as thin as the bacon. They don't give you a check, you go to the counter and tell them your table number in order to pay, not a big deal except that they didn't see that less than 2 minutes after the food arrived, we left it all barely touched on table B10. Awful,...

Very Poor. It was busy when I went in and there were many people standing up waiting in line in a very cramped space. I was by myself. I waited for 15 minutes standing up. Finally the young man who spent all of his time stacking coffee cups to the fourth level, slowly started cleaning the empty tables, which had been empty for a while. There were already tables available but a number of people had to wait a long time before anyone would seat them. Shorty after they were seated it was my turn. While I waited a group of three individuals came in behind me. They were taken to a table while I had to continue waiting. Since I was alone and there were no tables for one person, I felt like I was unimportant.

The servers continued to ignore me even though there were tables available. I saw only one server with a smile.. The remainder looked like they were tired from partying the prior evening. Most of their servers acted like mechanical robots. I will not go back. This is not the first time I have been to this restaurant. More than one time with this type of service is enough for me. I work to hard to spend the little that I make...
