One night the police were called to settle a dispute where a customer was given poor service, The customer was making a valid complaint to the hostess... his food and his wives food hadn't come to the table for almost an hour and therefore he got up and went and let the hostess know that he intends to pay for the drinks that he bought however he didn't feel that it was appropriate to pay for the food. (our food was also late this evening). In the time that he was at the counter with the hostess trying to get her to see his logic, my wife and I saw the server bring the plates to the table. the hostess and manager did not budge and insisted he pay or they call the police to intervene.
A police officer arrived and the manager, and the hostess LIED, Blatently lied about what was going on, they embellished the situation and lied about everything. The police officer agreed with the restaurant given it was the word of 5 workers against one poor guest and his wife. I tried to intervene and the police officer was clear that it was not my place to voice an opinion. The gentleman paid the bill and left quietly... I however voiced to them that I would never be back.
The customer is always right. If a person is forced to pay for food he never ate, even have the police show up and intentionally lie about the situation to an officer... they obviously do not ever need my money again.

I am a native to SC and have lived in West Ashley for almost 3 years. I really loved this place for their food and their environment. I've been there a lot. Tonight while eating with my parents my dad asked for a water (for me) and they brought one out in a clear cup. I picked it up almost immediately and took a drink only to notice there was a DEAD FROG in the bottom of my cup. At first I laughed bc I was in shock. Upon telling the staff and talking to the manager, they actually laughed and insinuated that we had put it there. They wouldn't report it and were not very apologetic. The story goes on and I dont know if someone did it INTENTIONALLY for whatever reason but the fact of the matter is whether they did or not the reaction to the whole thing was off and nothing was done! My dad called the police to report this as they would not (in case I got sick, there would be documented proof) and once they were called the manager said that now that you've called the police you have to pay for your meal. WE DON'T CARE ABOUT A FREE MEAL but they did not react in a caring way or apologetic way. Nothing is going to be done about this....
Read moreI've been a patron for over 11 years. Today was the worst experience I've ever had. The food was burned and I was told that was the way it was supposed to be. I was told that I didn't tell them in time. The waiter took my plate from the table and took it to the manager and they actually expected for me to take the remainder of it home and pay for the entire meal. Who would eat something that you've taken from the table and leave it at the register? Who knows what you've done to it! It wasn't the about the money which he made it seem to be. How can I tell you something if I've made a complaint to the waiter and you as the manager chose to sit down and talk on the phone versus coming to speak with your customer. I would never again visit this restaurant nor recommend it to anyone. I was told that he'd rather lose a customer than make it right. He also asked if he should work for free. His wife also had a very bad attitude. I'm sorry but your customers should be happy and you shouldn't have a nonchalant attitude about customer satisfaction.
