My birthday party of 14 was ruined. Bad food. Nobody should eat food prepared to standard, not when you pay over 16.00$ a entree. I spoke with manager. Excuses excuses. Take responsibility. I know you had a large party. Be prepared. By no means is he a management material. When you order entree for high price you expect a salad cone with it. This is not Chicago. I can go to Champaign to. A high class venue and get lots better food, service and price for the food I had. Second time two weeks later my friends birthday we went. The four of us. I thought ok I give it a try. Bad mistake. She ordered sausage and shrimp over what seams to be polenta . Food was warm, grease from what seams to be the sausage was all over. We send it back. Second time it was better. Look they had three tables that's all. Who is cooking? Very disappointed. I give them 6 months. If you don't change cooks and management you won't last. I don't care what your venue looks like. Charleston...
Read moreAbout 4 years ago I was lucky enough to talk to the amazing chef. He was so passionate about food and his plates reflected that. Wonderful gentleman. When i returned to Charleston, i went back to Brickhouse. Asked for the chef again and was informed he didn’t work there anymore. I do not hold that against the restaurant. Things happen and people move on. But it is disgustingly clear how much influence he had on the food. A good portion of the food is CLEARLY microwaved now. Especially the mashed potatoes. The difference in them then and now are night and day. The specials they used to come up with were literally the best things you can get in town, for miles. Now its dull and unimaginative. The ingredients and presentation are lack luster. I wont be naming the chef out of privacy concerns but he was the best thing to happen to that restaurant. Whoever is in charge now simply does not...
Read moreWe ordered the ribeye steak entree and the double fried chicken steak entree. The ribeye steak was cooked exactly how I wanted it which was medium rare, but it was not seasoned at all. It was a basic ribeye, nothing special. The baked potato was very soft, cooked perfectly and served hot. Came with sour cream and butter. The worst part of our meal was the double fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy. The fried chicken steak tasted frozen and the mashed potatoes and gravy were very bland. I've never had a fried chicken steak that needed salt. Especially if there is gravy too! Very disappointed in that meal. Service was amazing, the bruschetta app was good too. I also liked that they had non-alcholic wine and offered to make me a mocktail. We wouldn't come back...
