I was really craving an Asian dish. We are new to the area and googled places near us. Ichiban was not over priced and had what we wanted and pretty decent reviews. Got sat and as stated above it was definitely freezing. Anyway, our server got us waters and our gyoza. I had seen it was half priced kitchen apps on the specials board. Then another server did a drive by saying did they tell you it was half priced kitchen apps? We said we read it on the board. Everything is still fine. I get my soup and salad. Dressing is ok, seemed to be a mayonnaise based ginger dressing. I get a quarter into my salad and a bug was residing in my salad I dropped the bite and pushed it aside. Finally the drive by waitress walked by and my fiancé asked her to remove it from our table a visitor was in my salad. Her response was omg! Did you want another. I said no. I'm 2.5 months pregnant my stomach has now turned and I want to puke in my soup. Our server drops my food off, 4/5 minutes later my fiancé gets his sushi roll. No one has yet addressed the bug in my food. We waited, I picked at my food a little. I have zero appetite. About 10 minutes into it the server asks how's everything, my fiancé says fine other than the bug in the salad. She was shocked, she had no idea. Other server hadn't informed anyone apparently. Ours finally apologized and said she would go inform the manager and talk to her. She came back and said she (manager) took off the app, mind you is half off so about $2.00 of the $20 meal I now won't eat. It's not about really the money off, the manager never personally came to apologize it's a Sunday night, are you really that busy to not address something so disgusting that went to your table out of your kitchen? We boxed the food up since we had to pay for it. My fiancé will eat it. In the time of getting the box for it and swiping our card, the waitress that took the salad was talking with ours right behind our booth and we heard "I'm just doing my job, I'm trying to get the fu** out of here!" We paid and left. We won't be back. If you can't care for your guests, as we both work in the hospitality business, you do not need...
Read moreWe arrived at 7:30pm on Tuesday August 3rd, 2021. Came in to the host stand- was told it would be roughly 30-45 minutes. No worries, we went to the bar (at the physical bar not the tables around the bar) - Just me and my husband. Host came behind the bar and gave us our Menus. We go here often so we knew what we wanted. We sat at the bar for 5 minutes, no greeting. 10 minutes, still no greeting. He was walking by us and talking to everyone else. A single guy at the bar who seemed like a regular, and two guys to our left who were just friends. Asking them if they needed anything. A couple sits at the sushi bar, runs to them and gets their drink order within seconds. 15 minutes ago by for us- no greeting and no asking if we would like a drink. I work at a restaurant- if the bartender ignored two loyal customers (who come in bi-weekly) they would be fired. You lost money tonight. We always spend $100-$120. We left after not being greeted at the bar (where only 6 people were sitting) and he was not busy. Had enough time to talk gossip with the brunette host and do the “shimmy” move and laugh about it. On the way out him and the host both said “goodbye - have a great night”. Both were standing by the entrance just talking (again- he was not busy- he just did not want to serve us). No one asked why we were leaving just Straight up did not care about us or about making money. Think I am being dramatic? Check the cameras. your only getting 1 star because we like the food. But guess what- not anymore. We went to Hachiya down the Road. 10/10 would recommend that place. 5 stars. Hope that bartender is worth loosing loyal...
Read moreOrdering Uber Eats can be expensive, it’s a choice we make to pay more for convenience. For example my two hibachi chicken dinners came to $59.94 before adding the $8.10 service fee and I tipped the driver $10.47. Taxes and Service Fees and Tips aside, this brings me to Complaint #1: Ichiban charges a more than 50% up-charge on Uber Eats. Regular menu price for hibachi chicken $15.95, UE price for hibachi chicken $23.75. In total I spent $77.37, when it was all said and done, for two hibachi chicken dinners. No extras. So is almost-$16 chicken worth paying almost-$24 for? Well, the restaurant is somehow rated 4.7 on Uber Eats and we wanted hibachi so 🤷🏻♀️. Now, onto Complaint #2: the chicken was comically dry and bland yet it was still swimming in liquid in the to-go container (which leaked in the bag, but whatever, that happens sometime when having food delivered). The chicken was so dry and bland that no amount of white sauce could mask the tastelessness. I have no complaints about the veggies (well, they also were swimming in liquid), rice, or side salad hence my generous 2 stars. So, the super dry chicken was not worth the menu price of $15.75 and most definitely not worth the Uber Eats mark-up to $23.75. Maybe the shrimp, steak or scallops are better? I don’t know, but the...
