This has been over several months but I am sad to say we haven’t gone back and won’t be going back to the T-Bonz in N Charleston. After two visits where the poor service caused us to spend a combined 5 hours over two visits waiting on our food and getting overall very poor service. The first time I got my steak in like 20 mins, and my wife waited 45 mins to be told they had run out of Salmon. She ended up just eating her salad because she was so disappointed in waiting that long to be told, “we’re out”! Okay, thanks for waiting 45 mins after we turned in our order to tell us that! ! No comps, no price reduction, just sorry we kept you waiting and tried to starve you to death. But I love a good steak so I talked my wife into going back a couple months later. This time they took our order and brought our wine and after an hour wait, our waitress sheepishly tells us “ I’m sorry but I forgot to turn in your order, do you still want to order”. Seriously? We had been here an hour and she asks us if we still want food?? if we still want to eat? I usually tip good but I left a minimal tip. No comps again, the manager just came by and said I’m sorry there was a problem with your food! She obviously had no clue what the issue really was and when we told her the waitress never turned in our order, she just said we are so sorry and hope you’ll be back”... Fat chance Lady! She couldn’t comp our wine or one of the entrees? Really? Nothing? Yeah, well good luck if you try this place and if you wait more than 10 mins for anything, get ready to bail or start asking a lot of questions, ... if you can get anyone to come to your table.. it’s too bad, I really wanted a good steakhouse somewhere besides downtown Charleston! But I can’t take another chance of a 2-3 hour dinner with poor service...
Read moreIve been here twice, once it was a slow late week night....the other was tonight. A busy Friday. I have 15 yearsof restaurant experience and consistently watch how a place operates while Im dining. Ridiculous right? I cant help it, its a hobby. I read some of these reviews on here and I haven’t experienced anything negative. Maybe months ago this restaurant was going through a transition? Cant speak for that as I just recently started going there. Ill tell you this......It is hard to find excellent service anywhere in the Charleston area with the exception of the higher end restaurants downtown. Both times at Tbones I observed every server in the establishment being very attentive to all the guests, not just their own. The manager tonight greeted all tables, not just problematic situations. The qa (the person that sits in the window your food comes out and checks everything) could be heard by our table right next to the kitchen expediently getting the food out by the entire wait staff. The steaks were delicious for a mid ranged casual restaurant. It was all around a pleasure. My salad bowl and all other plates where taken by multiple employees. Drinks refilled by mutliple employees. Asked for steak sauce 2 employees actually brought it. They really have it together and Elvis 🕺 is all over the wall in paintings. I dnt write many reviews and its hard to impress me in the food and bev world. They...
Read moreFinally seated by a busy barkeep for a solo late lunch last time I worked in WA. Hoped to be a fan but what could go wrong was wrong. 1st impression- Few patrons, dirty floors/rugs, used dishes by a computer, no soap in the RR. Not a great start, should have left right then. My server was apathetic & unable to answer menu questions. The midwell steak arrived visibly fatty+ midrare. The manager came & weirdly began over-explaining their cooking process like my ignorance was the problem not the steak, clearly not caring I was unhappy. I must be an idiot that's never had a steak done correctly but he was the guy to teach me! A lady with keys tied to her belt (manager?) brought #2. She tossed the plate down & ran off so no A1/ketchup. #2 was ok. My server came reeking of cigarettes. I tipped well anyway. Went to see a huge awesome painting as I left but the lady with the keys was nearby having a loud & angry personal conversation on the phone. Overall an unenthused, poorly skilled & awkward group that prevents me from trying any of their sister restaurants. I do business tri-county but wouldn't risk bringing clients if all are allowed to operate this way. Nice menu, ok prices, parking, hot fries, outdoor porch, tvs & craft beer. Aside from being insulted & neglected I may try the bar for beer. I ate here a long time ago & it was good. In talented hands there's potential but they just don't have...
