Enjoyed spending time with my family here because I don't get a lot of time to spend with my loved ones, but........
I'm sad to say that these poor animals were suffering from malnutrition to say the least. All of the wolves looked as though bugs were eating their poor ears up. One of those babies was missing the tips of it's ears. One of the bears (that was laying against the fence) had a chunk of hair missing from its back left leg. He or she obviously had some sort of infection from the looks of the wounds. The otter & birds water was disgusting. The puma was very skinny & sickly. I do understand that all of these issues happen naturally in nature, but that's just the thing..... These caretakers are to mimic natural habitats while also making sure these sweet babies are well taken care of & whomever is responsible should be down right ashamed.
I won't be returning until something changes & those animals get the proper care & love they...
Read moreBeautiful place that we didn't thoroughly get to enjoy like we wanted because nature in the South is scary! 😂 I saw a big snake cross our path on a narrow walking path and I ran like my life depended on it. I hate snakes, and I am not afraid to admit it. They freak me out. From that point forward I was only looking out for snakes and nervous as heck. My wife and I were weirded out and left shortly after. The wilderness in Charleston, SC is like watching an episode of 101 ways to die. It's the Everglades of SC. I imagine that this is how people in Australia live their lives. Just waiting for a random deadly spider, snake, or crazy reptile to kill you. 😂 I'd rather risk a bear attack in the midwest than an alligator or snake encounter in the south. But I still love SC, and the city...
Read moreThe park is a must see. Beautiful! However, with that said I was very disappointed in the animal forests. It was heartbreaking to see the level of care for these animals. The goats as an example, had no green vegetation in their area only dirt. This is not natural for them, let alone all the other things goat need for enrichments. The eagle is a majestic bird kept in a tiny pen. Again, not in the best interest of this bird! This is not rehabilitating him and not caring for his wounds properly. Please if the park wants to have these animals as an exhibit do it with the animals best welfare in mind. I was very upset by this. All the animals here deserve...
