this is my favorite spot in charleston. go and youre going to have maybe the best sandwich youve ever had. with an ever-rotating menu alongside some permanent fixtures, theres always something that will catch your eye. i try to bring everyone i can who hasnt tried this place to it and they are always blown away when it lives up to and exceeds the expectations i set for it. lots of truffle-infused deliciousness, excellent cold cuts, great greens. all ingredients here come from well-sourced spots.
craig is prolly the kindest human who has existed on this planet--thats not an exaggeration. you can tell the heart he puts into the business and he genuinely cares about both his customers and community. if this was just an amazing sandwich joint it would be one thing. but folks like this are the ones who deserve our support and money.
small business deli-style and not a place youre going to have a sit-down at (though there are standing tables outside). go there before 11 if you want guaranteed food. it sells out quick. go before 10 if you want a full-go at anything...
Read moreMy first time visiting, I went in for one sandwich, but left with three! All three were delicious, with the Spicy being my favorite. The owner, operator, self-proclaimed angsty kid from Kenya, took time to connect with everyone who was waiting for a sandwich. He filled me in on the ingredients he was using and was more than happy to dive into detail. It felt like an impromptu mini Ted Talk on how to make incredible sandwiches.
The extent of my food critic experience is saying “mmm good” or “uhhh not good”, but I can say each sandwich was incredibly balanced. Fresh, high quality ingredients that married together so well, and tasted phenomenal on their own. This was the first time I’ve ever tasted greens on a sandwich and was impressed by their individual flavor. Give me a second to clean the drool off my keyboard.
They do sell out daily! Understandably so. Get there as early as you can to grab one. It is well worth it. Don’t cry if you miss it one day. Just go back the next, a little earlier, and support this incredible addition to the West...
Read moreBeen meaning to try this place for months but everytime I thought about it, it was too late in the day. You must follow them on Instagram to find out if they're still open (they sell out and close up shop quite early!). We did drive past it twice since there is no outdoor signage, although the indoor sign does shine bright and catch your eye from the parking lot. We were warmly greeted and chose the two sandwich types in the case. There's not much seating here, so I recommend taking these to go (take them with you to the Northbridge park for a nice view!). We couldn't wait until we got home to try these delicious smelling sandwiches. Even the cake shop next door knew we had gone to the sandwich shop because she could smell them when we walked in! My boyfriend got the freshly shredded Parm all over himself. I begged him for a bite while driving and oh my gosh. The focaccia was so much softer than what I expected and so much more delicious. The greens, the meat, the creme... All hyper local and fresh. You must try this place. It 100% lives up...
