I need to go back and give this place another chance. We visited after donating blood for the first time and I was feeling pretty awful already. I didn't even get a chance to try any of the drinks. We ordered a pretzel with brown mustard and beermento cheese. I did enjoy the twist on pimento cheese made with beer cheese. The pretzel came out hot and fresh. The kids enjoyed it! We also got the nachos. My only complaint is that I felt the cheese was a little overdone. It really only coated the top layer of nachos so there were only a few good bites before being left with just nachos that were untouched by anything. The cheese acted like a helmet hiding most of the nachos. I really liked the cilantro sauce that was on them! And the jalapenos weren't too spicy, which is how I like them! My husband had the strawberry ale and enjoyed his drink. We sat on the back patio which was wide and spacious. It was a little hoppy smelling, so the kids complained, but it was big enough for them to run around because no one was there. The arcade area was for kids 13 and up unless they were supervised. That was a bit of a bummer, but I understand why they do that.

Frothy Beard Brewing Company is the kind of place where beer takes center stage — and rightfully so. I came for the beer and stayed for... well, the beer. And let me tell you, it was damn well worth it. They’ve crafted a haven for beer lovers, with a dizzying variety that can satisfy even the most discerning hophead. The vibe? Laid-back yet lively, with a cool inside-outside flow that makes it hard to choose where to settle in. The food smelled and looked tempting, but I was too focused on the pints. The real surprise, though, is the small arcade tucked in the back, where nostalgia and good times collide. Enter Killer Queen, an addictive five-on-five showdown that had my 10 coworkers squaring off like gladiators, beer in hand. Original, chaotic, and ridiculously fun — much like the brewery itself. Pairing great brews with a game worth the hype? That's a winning combination.

I have always tried to stay away from breweries because I'm not much beer person, however, this place blew away all expectations I had! Originally I chose this place because it was on the "Upside" app and wanted to try something new. Our server was fantastic even though I don't remember his name. I bit pretzel bites and "beermento" cheese... and for someone who ain't like pimento cheese, this was amazing! I was so surprised with how so soft the pretzel bites were, they practically melt in your mouth! We also got a caprese salad, wings with teriyaki and sweet chili Buffalo, and a chicken sandwich. The wings were perfectly crispy after getting tossed in the sauce, and the fries also remained crispy once cooled. I can't speak enough on how awesome this place is, and I cannot wait to go back!

My husband and I were very excited to visit the new Summerville location today. It didn't work out so well.

We sat at the bar for about 10 minutes before being acknowledged by the servers, both of which were standing within six feet of us.

Finally, one asked if we had been helped. We said no and asked to try a sample of two beers. She told the other server, who brought them to us and walked away.

We made our choices and sat for another 5 minutes or so. Again, the servers weren't busy helping other customers. They talked to the customer next to us, to each other, and to someone who appeared to have come from working in the kitchen.

Finally, I think he heard us discussing walking out and sort of motioned to the server that she should speak to us.

At that point, we had already decided to leave.

If the servers had been busy helping other customers, we would have completely understood. But they weren't. They stood so close we could hear their entire conversations and ignored us.

We can go to the grocery store and buy Frothy Beard beer for a fraction of the cost of going to a location. And that is probably what we will do from now on.

It was beyond disappointing. And, prior to posting a review, I did sent a private message to them to give them a chance to respond. It was read. But 7 hours later, no response. So, I guess they don't care. Which was the theme of the day, I guess.

Frothy Beard Summerville? Skip it. They don't care if you are...

I'm here for this spot!

The Scene This open area restaurant usually has cartoons on for kids, some video games to be played, and a couch for lounging. While I haven't partaken, I see a constant stream of events like Star Wars Trivia on Wednesday, Trivia on Thursday, a running club, and vendor fairs. Check the Facebook as they are great on social media posting.

The Eats Ok so my Dad drank beer and as I child, I smelled it and took a sip. It was enough to keep me from ever thinking about drinking it. I tried at a brewery in Savannah a few years ago and didn't care for anything I sampled. Now at 42, I sampled the Out at Third - a sweet Belgian Pilsner that has a high alcohol content with banana flavors but still light with a sweet candy aroma. I didn't dislike it as I feel it would pair with pizza very well so I'll give it a full size try next time. I did not like any of the cocktails that we have ever ordered.

The food is provided by onsite pizzeria, Zombie Bob, using a beer-infused crust and it really works. I'm not a vegetarian but I really like veggie pizza and they just don't have one outside of adding individual toppings making it an almost $20 personal pizza and that bothers me.

Parting Thoughts I love pizza and my fiancé loves the burger so we'll add this to our date nights on trivia nights and drop in for events. It's a great West...

The atmosphere was delightfully nerdy and hipster, like what I remember from Boston. Star Wars and Jurassic Park memorabilia, warehouse-style brewery feel, vintage video games to play. Love this vibe.

The salad was fresh and the wings were crisp.

The beer I was able to get was full of flavor. A strong sour and a robust, spicy stout. The cider was rather weak and ended on a watery note, so I would give that a pass.

The two downsides from my visit:

It took 15 minutes before someone stopped up to the host station to seat me. It was a Saturday night, and moderately busy but not slammed. It turns out I could have seated myself and saved the time, but their signs indicated they needed to seat me. It took another 10 minutes before someone came over to my table to take a drink order.

The other downside was that they were out of a number of the beers on their menu (for draft), which was a bummer. They were also out of the mozzarella sticks, which was the entire reason I chose the place in the first place. That was also a big disappointment.

The server did his best to attend to me after the wait and was very friendly, so it wasn't his fault by any means. Good service.

So it's not a spot I would seek out for those reasons, but I wouldn't turn it down if someone suggested...
