I live in the area and have eaten there numerous times. For breakfast and lunch. I give it 2 stars bc the coffee is not that bad. But that is the only positive thing I can say about this place.
Ok. I am a food snob. However, just give me good simple food prepared well. Like at The Lost Dog. Am I asking too much? Perhaps I am.
First of all the service is not good. It never has been. You are always looking for the server for something. They never come over to see if you need anything. Just today my friend and I had breakfast, and the place was not busy. The server vanished and I wanted a coffee refill. She was nowhere to be found. My friend had to get up and find someone to get my refill.
Any food I hv ordered has not been good. I can make it better, I remember I ordered a hamburger and it was so greasy. I was shocked. I had ordered poached eggs once and the presentation was a joke. They put in a cup. Huh? They use a cheap type of bread as toast.
Today I ordered an omelet with tomato, goat cheese and avocado. Along with crispy bacon and a biscuit. Well. The omelet came flat as a pancake with three small wedges of avocado on top of the omelet. What? The avocado should be in the omelet. And omelets should be light and fluffy and rolled. Gordon Ramsey would hv a fit:). Seriously, I can make a better omelette.
Now it wasn’t busy, and my bacon was luke warm and so dry and tough that I could hardly eat it. It was like shoe leather. They pre cooked it. It was sitting there. No excuse. That was not crispy. And should hv been made to order.
The biscuit. I couldn’t believe they call that a biscuit. It looked like a large oval type of roll. And it was tasteless. I had no idea what it was. When I asked the server what it was, she answered it was the type of biscuit they make in the North. I’m from up North. I hv never seen a biscuit like that ever.
I can get a better breakfast at The Waffle House.
Each time I have eaten at this place I am hoping it will be better and it never is. Yet, they do business. I had to finally write a review bc enough was enough and someone had to write the truth. The food is sub par. And the service definitely needs help. For someone not going around filling your cup of coffee is sacrilegious when you are...
