i have eaten here once before and the food was very lackluster...but tonight i was at the bar next door and was very hungry looked at the clock and it was 12:57 so i ran over there with hope to get some food before they closed.when i walked in the OWNER/bartender was nowhere to be found but i sawl the cook through the service window and asked if they were still open and he said your cutting it very close but he said will still make me something so i asked for the quickest thing they make which is cheese curds to go and he said ok.....right when he said that the OWNER walks out of the kitchen and says "SORRY WE ARE CLOSED"....i do realize they were closed but come on there were still a couple people eating at the bar so she had to sit there and wait on them anyway....the cook even said he would fry some real fast for me.....obviously she was either too lazy to ring me up and take my money..or she simply doesn't care about running a successful business...it's things like this that cause a business to fail...i am a local and will NEVER go back to support this place because of this incident.this moron of an owner also missed out on a very nice tip because of her rudeness..i can't wait for this business to fail so a better one can come in it's place.hopefully the food and service will be better in the next resturant that...
Read moreSo sad to have picked up a to-go order today only to find that everything was lackluster since the change of ownership. We got three of our usuals: the poutine, the chicken schnitzel sandwich, and the sloppy joe. None of them had that made-from-scratch taste that they used to, almost as if corners have been cut for the sake of cost. The sauce on the schnitzel was barely there, and lacked the lemony goodness that we were accustomed to. The pimento cheese on the sloppy joe didn't taste homemade, and was scarce. The meat also tasted... canned? Can't quite put my finger on it. The bread on both sandwiches is no longer as good as it used to be. But the biggest disappointment of all was the poutine. The gravy was overly thick and congealed, and lacked the spice, and red wine bite that it had before. And the fries are now thick, and pre-packaged tasting. They no longer are the thin, crispy deliciousness they were. If you've never eaten here, most of this food would probably be passable. But if you're a regular like we used to be, you'll likely be disappointed. We'll give it another shot before we say goodbye forever. Here's hoping they work...
Read moreHonestly, I almost walked out bc of the atmosphere and empty dining room. It scared me that nobody was there at 6pm. I am glad we stayed, and gave it a shot. The food was really good. My simple chicken sandwich was seasoned really well. Tomato was grainy though and the cucumber salad side was ok, too much vinegar. Getting fries as a side, it cost extra. I did not think a $10.50 chicken breast sandwich would not have fries. My daughter got the wings and said they were the best she ever had. My husband got the fish and chips, the frying was beautiful, thick and crunchy. This place seems to do a lot of take out. Many take out orders were picked up. More people came as we were leaving so that improved the feel that we were the only ones dining. The restaurant ambiance-It was dark inside, table was sticky or felt like build up of cleaning chemicals, music was 70s/ boring and it kept going out with Wi-Fi issues. It smelled like something burnt or as if someone had been smoking in there. Fries were lack luster, processed. Because of atmosphere, felt dingy and dirty, not sure I would come again even though the...
