Marco's Pizza — Restaurant in Charleston

Love this place! The food is always delicious, they haven't gotten an order wrong yet, and pricing is reasonable. Had everything from pizza (duh), to salads and subs, with heavenly desserts in between (you will need an entire paper towel roll for the cinnasquares, fair warning)

The reason I took the time to write a review today is because the girl who answered the phone, Sarah, totally turned my dreary day around with her bright, sunshiny personality. You could literally hear the smile in her voice. She even went so far as to anticipate my needs with a simple drink order: I requested a Coke, she said they had pepsi products, I said alright fine give me a pepsi, she replied with "Sure! But just in case, I wanted you to know we also have..." and rattled off their other drinks with enthusiasm. I didn't actually want the Pepsi, it's just been a long day and I went with the first option, so her taking the time to give me other options allowed me to get a drink I would actually enjoy.

Her overall helping attitude and uniquely pleasant demeanor caused me to want to write this review and let management know to hang on tight to that one. I even asked her to repeat her name before we got off the call so I could make sure to recognize her directly. Thanks Marcos! We...

Called to order a pizza tonight. Jeffrey, the GM dd not want to honor a discount coupon flyer posted at our apartment complex. Says he didn't place any advertising in our area since January. Basically, stating I'm a liar. I have a photo proving the opposite.

Incredible that a business wants to be so confrontational about a few dollars. I was okay with not having a discount until they (both the person taking the order and the GM) were so dismissive.

The customer may not always be right. However, he always has a choice. I will be spreading my experience far and wide.

The pizza is okay. It's not brilliant and certainly not worthy putting up with lip service for an over-priced pizza.

I was contacted by the owner. He was apologetic and sincere about his management breakdown. He is taking steps to ensure his future guests are treated with respect. I will be visiting this location again and giving them a second chance to earn my business. My review rating will reflect my future experience(s). No greeting, acknowledgment or eye contact from anyone when I walked in and stood at the counter for what seemed like 5 minutes. Two employees were on the phone taking an order and looking for an order in the register and another employee was folding pizza boxes. After finishing her call, the one looking for an order walked to the back to ask if there was an order for someone. The guy making pizzas called out names of the orders that were there, one of which was mine. She finally came back to the register and acknowledged me. She couldn’t get on her register b/c the employee folding boxes was messing around on the register. Then she switched to the other register b/c the one she had been on didn’t seem to work. After finally getting home, we found the pizza much greasier than normal, burned and hadn’t even been sliced!

I think the manager that had been at this location for a long time had been promoted about 1-2 years ago. Happy for him, but it’s too bad he’s not still there. Will be a long time...
