Excellent Mexican food and extensive menu at great prices! Something for everyone. Margaritas, too! We got seated right away even though there were many patrons. Lots of parking, also! This is a large resturant with lots of friendly staff that are attentive. We ordered the guacamole to have along with the warmed tortilla chips and most delicious salsa that gets placed on the table when you sit down. For the entre', I tried the Diablo Burrito with moist yellow rice, lettuce, and tomatoes. It has jalapeños in it, so be prepared! It comes with three kinds of meat in it: beef, chicken, and chorizo. She had the Taco Bowl with ground beef and extra guacamole....very good. The entire bill was in the low $30 range, tax included. We will be back as this was a great find! It's across from the CAMC hospital on a back street named Chesterfield. You can turn off MacCorkle at the McDonald's. Those are your landmarks. Try it, folks. Highly recommended!

6/3/2022: Went for lunch today. Had a delicious 22 ounce margharita with salt, and a seafood Burrito. She had cheese quesadillas. Both dishes well made, fresh, and very tasty, as usual. Me and some friends were out having dinner at Plaza Maya. When I tell you we were having a good time, we were having a great time! We had not seen each other in quite a while. We were gathering our stuff to get ready to leave but one of the waiters didn't realize it. (BECAUSE he wasn't our waiter to begin with) He came over to our table and in an aggressive and loud manner, and told us he needed our table! Who does that?? He was soo rude!! Ruined our night. I will tell everyone about this treatment wherever I go because I'm still traumatized by it.

I didn't leave a tip because I was so pissed!!! Now some may say, that isn't fair, your waiter wasn't the one who was rude. I agree and we had planned to leave him a really big tip because he was so good to us. I thought about it and my reasoning is this.... This needs to be an over all message!!! I hope our waiter in the next TEAM MEETING says, how dare you mess up my money with my customers!!! I'm telling you the other customers could hear him when he told us he needed us to leave the table. Plaza Maya has become a dining tradition whenever I'm visiting Charleston, West Virginia. My identical twin brother and his close Charleston friends always made Plaza Maya their favorite restaurant for dinner on Monday nights.

This popular Mexican restaurant is open for lunch and dinner. It is always a fun place, with authentic Mexican foods on its menu and good service from the friendly and efficient English-speaking waiters.

It arguably has the best margaritas in Charleston, in three sizes: small, medium, and large. I learned that the crushed ice margaritas were too cold, so I switched to some ice cubes and now I can easily drink two of the medium size.

On my most recent visit, there was a surprise birthday party, and I was amazed to see a tall, lit sparkler on someone's cake that was being brought to their table.

Plaza Maya is located in the Kanawha City area of Charleston. There is plenty of free parking outside. The restaurant, which has about 70 tables that can seat as many as 280 people, has an extensive menu.
