M & M Mart — Restaurant in Charleston

We went to M&M mart and deli this evening, have been wanting to try it out because of all the rave reviews they have received on a local Facebook group..checked Google to see what time they close and it said 9pm. The sign said open when we got there and the times on the door said 9 pm also. We got to the store at 8:18 and head over to the deli to order some food.. we planned on taking our food back home to eat but we were told that the deli closed in 10 minutes… she made us feel like we were unwelcome and that we had bothered her.. I will be honest had I known they closed at 8:30 or in 10 minutes I never would of gone in, in the first place..we thought we had 45 minutes to grab some sandwiches and head home but to be made to feel like we had done something wrong by coming in there especially with the fact she knew we had never been in before and everywhere I can find says they close at 9….we said nevermind and told her we would go ahead and go and she said are you sure but her tone that she took when she told us that they closed in 10 minutes said everything.. I asked why everything said 9 she said the deli closes at 8:30 and the mart doesn’t close till 9…either way we didn’t get to experience the food and while I am sure it is good food the customer service left a lot to be desired and I am not sure how you can let unassuming people that come in for a sandwich that you really close at 8:20 or 8:30 instead of 9 like posted everywhere would help…maybe you could print it on the menus… I can promise you had we of known we would of never come in.. I work in the service industry and the last thing I want to do is keep someone late or make them clean extra so that they have to be at work longer then necessary especially on a...

I heard they made a good sandwich, so I stopped in. I asked for a ham and Swiss on a long roll. Friendly service! Typical deli with tables to be able to sit down and eat. The food: plenty of ham and good Swiss. The roll was dry, and I threw half of away. Usually, one gets broiled ham. But, they gave me some sort of smoked ham. I don't personally like anything smoked, and it was a chore to eat (I grew up as a kid thst you ate what was put in front of you, or you went hungry). I hate returning food, so I ate it. Interestingly, the next customer was a fellow that just moved in from Alaska and he ordered a ham and cheese, too. The help mentioned they served a smoked ham. I would have loved boiled ham. No one mentioned that to me. Prices are quite expensive. I realize that it's Boars Head, but I could do without the name brand. This evening me and 10 of my coworkers called to order sandwiches from m&m mart. When we called at 7:45pm the man that answered the phone told us that they closed at 9 and that he wasn’t taking a big order like that. After asking to confirm what time they closed he finally agreed to make the order but said they wouldn’t do it again after today. He was huffing and rude after each order that was read off. The sandwiches that we got were all made correctly and were delicious but it was upsetting that they acted like it was a huge inconvenience to make 11 cold sandwiches with an hour and 15 minutes left...
