Iâll say itâs possibly the most authentic Peruvian food in Charlotte, but that doesnât say much. Charlotte doesnât have any authentic Peruvian restaurants and yup Iâve tried them all. Coming from Miami Iâm used to having amazing Peruvian restaurants on almost every corner!
The issue with the Peruvian restaurants here in Charlotte is that they donât use quality meats. For example, in Miami, Peruvian restaurants use Filet Mignon for their Lomo Saltado and the beef is tender and juicy!! Here in Charlotte they use poor quality beef and you can tell by how hard and chewy the meat is. The flavors may be good, but tough meat is never good.
Another common issue is in the 4 years Iâve been here, Iâve never seen any Peruvian restaurant make Suspiro Limeño (a very popular Peruvian dessert) itâs almost as if the Peruvian here in Charlotte didnât get the memo.
Also, if youâre located inside a grocery store where theyâre also preparing peoples taxes and selling jewelry, your food shouldnât be expensive. Aji de Gallina should be no more than 12$ and Lomo Saltado 14-18 dollars! This place is overpriced.
Also it wouldnât hurt to have more than ONE server. The young lady did an exceptional job being all by herself and bussing her...
Read moreAs fellow Peruvians we were very excited to come here and try a new spot in Charlotte. My parents had come here the night prior and the food was decent, music was too loud but they wanted to bring us here. We came tonight and we found a đȘ°FLYđȘ° in THE CEVICHE (look at the pictures). HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE: They take away my plate that i discovered the fly in with the fish&shrimp from the Jalea on it and do not bring me another plate or even extra fish / shrimp that we ended up paying for. NOBODY apologized for the fact that there was a FLY (they carry diseases) on our FOOD THAT WE STARTED EATING. If this place truly cared in the slightest about their customers (THE REASON THEY ARE EVEN OPEN) then the Chef or someone from management would apologize or give us the food on the house⊠we ended up paying for the Jalea Mixta even after they took away part of it on my plate that had the fly on it.
10/10 will NEVER recommend anyone come to this place because who knows what theyâre hiding in the kitchen and how sanitary it is. As a professional you know that a company without customers is just a building with four walls. They CLEARLY donât care about their customers and just...
Read moreFrom the moment Ruth, our lovely waitress, greeted us until we watched dance lessons happening and got take-out dessert as we were leaving, we were SO impressed by Alicia's Kitchen! When you first see the front of the building and walk in to see a check cashing business, you think twice, but after you walk past that, and the kind and warm smiles and delicious smells greet you, you know you've made a good decision. When you sit down, they bring Peruvian popcorn kernels with dipping sauce--surprisingly delicious. We couldn't stop munching these. Next was cocktails. The $8 tropical cocktail called Chilcano was so tasty and a great value! Every person at our table ordered something different, and we were all so happy. Everything was delicious! Our waitress let us taste some yummy samples, and was so happy to show us their best. I loved how proud she is to share her culture. Finally, we all got freshly made desserts from their bakery on the way...
