Oh Chipotle, Chipotle! The enthusiasm surrounding your opening in Steele Creeke was reserved for celebrity restaurants! If my all-too frequent 5 mile treks to the nearest Chipotle were any indicator -- I knew Id be eating at South Tryon several times a week. So... you can imagine my disappointment when I came to realize, just today, that I will not be eating here frequently if at all. Since it's opening, I have eaten or purchased food for take out at this Chipotle seven times, and here's what I have seen in my purchases -- which have been limited to barbacoa burritos and barbacoa salads: The lettuce and rice have been consistently excellent; the corn was good until it wasnt -- on one occasion it was outright nasty and I never ordered it again. The main improvement has been in the amount of salad dressing poured into a single plastic container -- that has increased by about 100% (so, from about a teaspoon to about 2 tablespoons, actually enough for one salad.) What has seriously deteriorated is the amount of meat provided. It has consistently dwindled. Today I was so astonished I actually said "could you add a little meat to each of those?" There appeared to be possible an ounce on burrito and on the salad. It was hideous --especially since I dont get much in the way of toppings. I am appalled to have to ask -- and refuse to do it again. Im done! I can easily return to driving back to South Park, another deterioration: how much spice are you going to put in the barbacoa? I dont know if comes pre-cooked or pre-spiced but it is getting hotter and hotter. BTW, where in the world is management? In all the times I have been to the store Ive never seen anyone that acted like manager. I dont know what it's like to work there but the kids do seem awfully dour ... what's happpening behind the scenes? You are charging high end prices for 'fast food' -- which means, people can pay these prices and not have to stand in line and not have to ask for meal size portion of meat-- all the while eating a bottomless bowl of chips! On one occasion I paid $2.50 for a HUGE, albeit nearly empty bag of chips. Chipotle -- your chips arent better than those homemade in the local Mexican restaurants! What are you thinking? I also paid an extra $2.00 for guac on the burrito -- but it was maybe one tablespoonful -- yet, when you get it on the side, they fill up the plastic container -- perhaps twice as much. Seriously? I will check back in a month or so to see if things have changed. 1/26/19 Yes, I went back --hopeful that there might be improvements. Here's what I found: The staff was friendly! Yeah! The prices went up and -- unfortunately the amount of barbacoa was the same (paltry) also it is still on the spicey side. None the less the taste combined with the fresh lettuce and delicious rice is excellent (hence, any stars at all.) This time they forgot to add the little cup of dressing or offer it so I arrived home --and the whole reason for the salad was missing! The guac on the burrito increased, so there's that. The place on a beautiful Saturday afternoon was only half full --so that tells you the value is just not there. Heart breaking because in this neighborhood there are so many people who can afford to eat out --that Chipotle should be FULL of people! Also, with their short menu and the space on the property they sure could have done a drive thru-- poor planning and...
Read moreI stopped at this location yesterday for a later afternoon lunch. Upon my arrival, one of the first things I noticed was how many staff members there were. There were probably 5 or 6 standing near the register alone and the others were behind the counter/in the kitchen space. The person helping me seemed to have minimum customer service, as she wasn't she least bit outgoing-friendly. I ordered a burrito bowl and a drink, hoping to sit inside and eat while I worked. My total was $18 and some change. Crazy expensive in my opinion but that's where we are these days. Anyway, I see the man who had ordered before me going back to the counter to ask for something. In the meantime, I go to fill up my drink cup. No ice in the machine. I see then that he must have asked about forks because the girl at the register was opening a new box of forks. I couldn't help but notice how dirty the counters/floors were and how empty everything was. There was no juice or tea in the containers beside the drink machines. With all of the staff there, I find it hard to believe that they didn't have time to complete the minimum tasks to create a clean/pleasant environment. Once she finally had the box of forks open, him and I are standing there, waiting to get our forks. We stood there and stood there. She walks away for a second and I finally just go over and grab a fork and walk away because in my opinion, to offer the best customer service, she should have turned around, given us the forks we had been standing there waiting on, and then continued filling up the (multiple) empty containers. As I walked out, I left my drink cup empty on the table because I didn't have it in my to wait for someone else to fill the ice in the drink machine.
I write this in hopes that someone from a higher management level will see this and make changes to better this location. I'm in customer service and if I had a team operating this way I would be embarrassed to...
Read moreCrazy- my daughter and her teammate came to chipotle like we have been doing for years at this location. It's 10PM. The main line was closed (understandably it was late). They were using the TOGO line for orders. My daughter loves guac unfortunately they were out (again understandable since it's late) But then my daughter asked for Vingarette. The girl told her "no" because it was only for Togo orders and they were just helping the main line. There was a stack of the Vingarettes and she refused to give just one to my daughter. So I wanted to make my daughter happy and asked if I could order my order online so she could get the Vingarette. She said fine (rudely) and so i paid for my daughters meal and her teammates and proceeded to do an online order. I ordered 3 tacos online for pickup. We waited, she told me that my order didn't state Vingarette and refused to give us any. To add to it, she slowed down and wouldn't make the 3 tacos. - we were the only 3 ppl in Chipotle and there were zero pending Togo orders besides mine. The girl and her coworker had the worst attitudes and were laughing and rolling eyes and continued to NOT make my order. I ended up walking out. I'll have to call for my refund on my "togo" order in the morning. All this because the girls working refused to give my kid Vingarette and were extremly rude. My daughter walked out with her order (no guacamole no Vingarette). She couldn't understand why the girls behind the counter were mean and rude to us.
Its Unfortunate, we've been coming to the Whitehall chipotle after practice for years and go to other chipotles and we have never experienced this level of rudeness and terrible customer service.
To add to it, got home, food was cold and...
