I recently discovered this place because it's very close to me on Shamrock Drive and convenient for take out. And the first time I tried it, I got a #4 and was pleasantly surprised. The sandwich was very tasty and there was no issue with fat being in the sandwich. The second time was good too. But the third time, my sandwich had a good bit of fat in it, but I figured that was an anomaly. The fourth time I got a pork noodle bowl which was terrible because it was riddled with fat and gristle - way more fat and gristle than meat. So I put it in a zip lock bag and went back the next day. The guy at the register said he noticed the previous day that there was too much fat and said he told the staff to do a better job of trimmiing the meats. He then provided me with a #4 sandwich at no cost. However, when I got home and opened up the sandwich, the first thing I see is a long strip of gristle and fat with tiny flecks of meat attached to it. So I called and got the same guy on the phone and told him there was a bunch of fat in the sandwich he just made for me. To which he replied - "that's just how the cut is". And then he started to dispute that it was fat and that somehow I didn't realize it was actually meat. I told him I know the difference between gristle, fat and meat, and he replied again "that's just how the cut is". So I told him he lost a customer and I'm writing...
Read moreI come to this place and the Ayrsley Town Blvd location quite often. Today I came here and ordered what I always did, a Crispy’s favorite banh mi and a large classic milk tea. The banh mi was good as always (2 stars), however the milk tea was not not the same. It was actually horrible. It doesn’t even mean not as good as it used to be, but straight to be horrible. It doesn’t have any taste of tea in it, but has the strawberry smell and tart after taste, like drinking a watery well melted strawberry milk shake. So I came back and asked the rep who served me (named Linh) and she told me it is the new recipe. Ok I would have been just disappointed if the owner decided to change the recipe. But I was bothered by the way the rep replied, like it’s my fault I didn’t know they change the recipe. “That’s why I told you we can’t change the sugar level anymore”. How the well would I know you can’t change sugar level is related to a change in recipe?! The tone of voice she used was very rude, like a kid nonstopping talking back to her parents (loud, quick, poorly educated as what the Vietnamese would call “mất dạy”). I probably won’t come back here for a long while unless they make some change (if not milk tea quality at least...
Read moreUsually when we come to Charlotte, we always order banh mi from here. Customer service has always been meh and you can tell the people who work here don't want to be there. Today really took the cake though. We ordered 6 banh mi from them online, so it is already paid for. This order was placed before they were open, and at an airport out of state. The flight was delayed so there wasn't a way we can change the order since they are closed and won't pick up the phone (we tried). They apparently called mid-flight, so we returned the call when we landed. They were incredibly rude on the phone asking us "Are you going to pick up your food or not?" When trying to explain the situation, they hung up on their end. When picking up the food, they threw it on the table, said nothing, and just stared. Mind you, all of this was already paid for, so it's not like we are being inconvenient to them, or not going to pay them. In my language, we would call these people mất dạy, which means they are poorly educated and obviously not raised correctly. Will not be coming here again, and I warn anyone else who do that you most likely will receive the...
